ObjectiveOur purpose was to investigate the gastrointestinal reaction awareness and phenomenon of esophageal carcinoma patients in Wenzhou3-A hospital. By finding the influencing factors of gastrointestinal reaction knowledge, gastrointestinal reaction knowledge of nanny, age, career and disease characteristic played in gastrointestinal reaction behaviors, we aimed to provide references for the esophageal carcinoma patients’health education and improve the patients’health.Materials and MethodsInvestigation was performed to all esophageal carcinoma patients in Wenzhou3-A hospital who were fit for the standards by means of Self-administration with anonymity uniform questionnaires, in September,2012. SPSS19.0was used to setup database. Kruskal Wallis Test, Mann-Whitney U test, Chi square test and so on were conducted to analyze the data.ResultsA total of212esophageal carcinoma patients and nannies participate were selected in the study and the number of effective questionnaire that returned at the end of the program was212. Questionnaire of effective recovery rate was100%.212effective questionnaires had been got, and the effective rate was100%.l. Among212esophageal carcinoma patients, male reached133(62.7%), female reached79(37.3%) and no one was missing (0.00%). The age of esophageal carcinoma patients distributed between35-78years old. The number of illiteracy and primary school patients, junior high school and technical secondary school patients, junior college and above patients was101(47.6%),92(43.4%),19(9%), respectively; Most of the esophageal carcinoma patients were farms and workers, and they came from rural and town.1. Among212nannies of esophageal carcinoma patients, male reached10(4.7%), female reached202(95.3%). The age of nannies distributed between35-55years old. The number of illiteracy nannies reached78(36.8%) and the number of primary school nannies reached134(63.2%).2. Through analyzing212questionnaires of patients, we could learn that the contraceptive knowledge rate of patients was not all reached80%. There was a significant difference between the level of esophageal carcinoma patients’knowledge, age, educational achievement, career, basic disease, hospitalization days and the level of esophageal carcinoma nannies knowledge.Through analyzing212questionnaires of nannies, we found that there were about58.02%nannies whose knowledge level reached80%, and the left was41.98%whose knowledge level under80%.3. All patients learned knowledge through lecture, and only38.68%patients got knowledge through consultation and investigation. There were two patients get the knowledge through one method, about0.94%, and139patients learn it through two methods,52patients learn it through three methods,10patients learn it through four methods,7patients learn it through five methods, only one patients learn it through six and seven methods.About96.23%patients learned knowledge from medical clerk, about86.79%patients learned it from their nanny, only a few patients learned it from internet, paper. The order that patients want to learn knowledge from is medical clerk, special materials, nanny, roommate, internet, family member, and book. There existed distance between clinical and expectation. 4. Through multiple linear regression, it showed that career, basic disease, complications, gastrointestinal reaction, and navy’s knowledge level were the most significant factors for patients’ gastrointestinal knowledge, career, basic disease, complications and navy’s knowledge level were the most significant factors for patients’ basic gastrointestinal knowledge. Basic disease, complications, gastrointestinal reaction and nanny knowledge level were significant factors for patients’ prevention knowledge.5. There were39.62%patients had gastrointestinal reaction and constipation was the most frequent which reached52.46%. The degree of gastrointestinal reaction was also light, and it was most happened in early feeding stage. The most treatment to gastrointestinal reaction was use medicine immediately. And the other treatment was observation and then health education. And no one used comfort to treat gastrointestinal reaction.6. There were different in patients’ age, educational achievement, career, basic disease, gastrointestinal fistula, hospitalization days. Logistic regression analysis indicated that patients’age, educational achievement, career, basic disease, gastrointestinal fistula were significant factors for gastrointestinal reaction-Conclusions1. The esophageal carcinoma patients in WenZhou3-A hospital mastered gastrointestinal reaction knowledge at the ordinary level, and had a lot of uncertainty. Overall different age, educational achievement, career, basic disease, hospitalization days and the level of esophageal carcinoma nannies knowledge had differences.2. The esophageal carcinoma patients in WenZhou3-A hospital acquired gastrointestinal reaction knowledge only in many different ways, and there was a distinct difference between clinical and expectation3. The initiative that esophageal carcinoma patients learn gastrointestinal reaction knowledge was not positive. It needed medical clerk to improve the enthusiasm of esophageal carcinoma patients through all kinds of methods.4. With analysis of Logistic Regression, it indicated that patients’ age, educational achievement, career, basic disease, gastrointestinal fistula were significant factors for gastrointestinal reaction.
