ObjectiveThis study tries to observe the gastrointestinal side reaction after hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(HIPEC)of postoperative colon cancer patients by the treatment of electroacupuncture at gastrointestinal lower he-sea point in 7-9a.m.By observing the degree of gastrointestinal side reaction and evaluating the result of the observation, this study means to explore the practical application of the theory of "Nazi Method of Midnight-midday Ebb Flow" in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)to provide clinical treatment ideas and options for postoperative colon cancer patients, and to ensure that the HIPEC go smoothly and the gastrointestinal function rehabilitate rapidly.MethodsClinical data of 60 cases of postoperative colon cancer patients in First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were randomly assigned into observation group(n=30)and the control group(n=30),both groups plan to receive HIPEC after operation of colon cancer, which begins at the first day after operation, once a day for 3 days.In the mean time,The control group received routine medication, and the observation group plus electroacupuncture at gastrointestinal lower he-sea point in 7-9a.m.,which begins at the first day after operation, once a day for 5 days. The changes of gastrointestinal reaction, appetite recovery, alimentary tract laboratory index and NLR were observed before and after HIPEC treatment in the two groups.ResultsThe distribution of baseline data in the two groups were balanced, and there was no significant difference in baseline data between the two groups(P>0.05),the two groups were comparable. Before treatment, there was no significant difference in gastrointestinal reaction, appetite recovery, relative alimentary tract laboratory index and NLR.After treatment, the degree of gastrointestinal reaction in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,in which nausea and vomiting reaction, abdominal distension and abdominal pain reaction have statistically significant differences by comparing with the control group(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the degree of diarrhea reaction between the observation group and the control group(P>0.05).The recovery degree of appetite in the observation group was better than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).At the same time, the decrease of NLR in observation group was more obvious than that in control group.Compared with the control group, there was no significant difference in the relative alimentary tract laboratory indexes after treatment between two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the average hospitalization days between two groups(P>0.05).ConclusionThe purpose of this study was to explore the therapeutic effect of electroacupuncture at gastrointestinal lower he-sea point in 7-9a.m.on gastrointestinal reaction in postoperative colon cancer patients with HIPEC.Compared with the control group, the treatment of electroacupuncture at gastrointestinal lower he-sea point in 7-9a.m could significantly reduce the incidence of nausea and vomiting, abdominal distention and abdominal pain after HIPEC,in the mean time,it can also improve appetite. The curative effect is remarkable. The NLR can be reduced correspondingly to improve the prognosis of the patients. To sum up,under the guidance of the theory of "Nazi Method of Midnight-midday Ebb Flow" in traditional Chinese medicine, the treatment of electroacupuncture at gastrointestinal lower he-sea point in 7-9a.m.is effective in postoperative colon cancer patients with HIPEC,which can provide clinical treatment ideas and be used as a clinical choice.
