Objective:To investigate the serum copeptin level and fasting blood glucose(FBG) cholesterol, triglycerides(TG), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C) relevance in patients with chronic alcoholism, and further to explore the clinical significance of the stress signs copeptin in judgment of the patients with chronic alcoholism.Methods:41 cases of patients with chronic alcoholism, according to different years of drinking alcohol were divided into drinking less than 20 years group, and drinking more than 20 years group, and according to the head CT diagnosis, they were divided into normal CT group and abnormal CT group; 20 cases of normal control group. All patients were treated by double antibody sandwich method for the determination of serum copeptin level, meanwhile for the determination of the fasting blood glucose (FBG), cholesterol, triglyceride (TG), LDL-C and HDL-C levels to analyze the relationship between them.Result:1. The serum copeptin level in patients with chronic alcoholism is for 47.92± 7.12pg/ml, it was lower than the normal control group with the result of 57.39± 6.59pg/ml, there was significant difference (P<0.01).2. In group of patients with chronic alcoholism, the serum copeptin level in patients drinking less than 20 years is for 47.13±7.94pg/ml,and compared to the drinking more than 20 years group with the result of 48.48 ±6.59pg/ml, there was no significant difference (P>0.05).3. In group of patients with chronic alcoholism, the serum copeptin level of abnormal CT group was 50.41±6.17pg/ml, it was slightly higher than the normal CT group with the result of 46.78±7.11pg/ml, but there was no significant difference (P > 0.05).4.In group of patients with chronic alcoholism, serum copeptin level was not significantly correlated with the fasting blood glucose (FBG), cholesterol, triglyceride (TG), LDL-C and HDL-C levels(P>0.05).Conclusion:1. If the serum copeptin level is decreased in patients with chronic alcoholism, may have clinical significance.2. With the increaseof the drinking years, there was not any regularity of serum copeptin decreased.3. The serum copeptin level in patients with chronic alcoholism without auxiliary significance on the evaluation of complicated with cerebral vascular disease.
