The Relationship Between Adult Seborrheic Dermatitis And Constitution Of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Purpose:To study and analysis the physical characteristics, analysis of TCM syndrome types of seborrhoeic dermatitis and physical types relationships, and discuss the relativity of seborrhoeic dermatitis with patients’habitus.Methords:127 patients with seborrhoeic dermatitis were selected from the Hospital for Skin Diseases Institudt of Dermatology outpatient service, by using the method of epidemiological investigation, and asked to fill in the standard constitution questionnaire which containing 9 types of body constitution, statistical analysis was done by determining the constitution of physical distribution, constitution and syndrome types and physique of the relationship.Results:1. In 127 patients with seborrhoeic dermatitis,48 people had single constitution, and 79 cases had two or more types of abnormal constitution. The majority is constitution of dampness-heat (31 cases,24.4%), followed by constitution of Yin-deficiency (30 cases,23.6%), constitution of Qi-stagnation (14 cases,11.0%), constitution of normal (13 cases,10.2%), constitution of Yang-deficiency (12 cases,9.4%), constitution of allergic (11 cases,8.6%), constitution of Qi-deficiency (10 cases,7.9%), constitution of blood stasis(6 cases,4.7%), constitution of phlegm-dampness (0 cases,0%), respectively.2.Among the total 127 adult patients, male patients are much less than females which have 46 cases, and female patients have 81 cases.3.All the patients are between 18 to 54 years old, the average age is 28. They can be divided into 4 parts of ages:range from 24-30 years old is the majority which including 75 patients, and only 8 patients are age above 38, the other two parts are 29 patients below 23 years old, and 15 patients between 31-37 years old.4.Course of disease effective cases are 116, can be segmented into 3 groups:8 cases appeared in half year, and 18 cases appeared between half year to 3 years, and 90 cases appeared more than 3 years.62.59 percent of patients (79) came from Jiang Su province.5.Patients with different type of seborrheic dermatitis have significant difference with Chinese constitution (P＜0.01)Conclusion:1 Among the 127 seborrheic dermatitis patients,48 patients have only one type of abnormal constitution, and 79 patients have two or more types of abnormal constitution. Most of the seborrheic dermatitis patients were the constitution of dampness-heat, Yin-deficiency, Qi-stagnation, normal and Yang-deficiency, allergic, Qi-deficiency and blood stasis.2. Among the male patients, the dampness-heat and Qi-stagnation constitutions have the biggest ratio, and the ratios of Yin-deficiency、dampness-heat and Qi-stagnation between female patients are bigger than the other constitutions/3. The age distribution and constitutions of TCM in this report have no statistical significance.4. The differences of patients’ course of disease% areas and constitutions of TCM in this report have no statistical significance.5. The Chinese constitution of patients with Stomach damp heat syndrome type seborrheic dermatitis:dampness-heat>Qi-stagnation=Yin-deficincy>Yang-deficincy>normal>blood stasis=allergic>Qi-deficincy.The Chinese constitution of patients with Wind-heat and blood dryness type SD:Yin-deficincy> Qi-deficincy= dampness-heat >allergic= normal> Yang-deficincy> Qi-stagnation> blood stasis.6. To provide an effective basis for certain treatment and medication on seborrheic dermatitis.
