Efficacy Of Double-bundle Anatomical Medial Patellofemoral Ligament Reconstruction Fixed With Double Endobutton In Treatment Of Recurrent Patella Dislocation

Objective：To investigate the short-term curative effect of double-bundleanatomical medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction fixed with doubleEndobutton in treatment of recurrent patella dislocation.Methods：From September2012to March2015，12cases (12knees) withrecurrent patellar dislocation were selected in this retrospective study，among whichthere were10females and2males with an average age of27years (range,19-48years)．10knees were used autogenous semitendinosus tendon and2knees wereused allograft tendon.All the patients were performed lateral retinacular release. Theoperation was performed using a double-bundle tendon graft.Two bone tunnels weremade at the medial edge of the patella, mimicking the patellar insertion of the MPFLand a bone tunnel was made at the femoral insertion site.The key point of surgerywas anatomic reconstruction MPFL with double-bundle tendon by using bone tunneland two Endo-Button to fixed on the patella and femoral.All patients were followedup for an average of14months(ranging6-24).The clinical curative effect evaluationincluded Lysholm、Kujala and Tegner scores.Results： All the patients showed negative apprehension test afteroperation．Redislocation or patellar fracture was not seen in any patients.The meanLysholm,Kujala and Tegner scores were94.67±2.93,94.33±2.74and5.83±0.72respectively at the final follow-up.All were showed statistically significantdifferences compared with preoperation(P＜0.05).Conclusions:The double-bundle anatomical medial patellofemoral ligamentreconstruction fixed with double Endobutton in treatment of recurrent patelladislocation produces favorable results in subjective and functional assessment of outcome without complications;the short-term effect was reliable.
