Objective:To discuss the effects of psychological intervention based on the theory of hardiness onanxiety, depression and coping styles of perioperative patients with breast cancer, clarify theconcrete implementation means of the psychological intervention of conceptual theory ofhardiness, improve the psychological stress status of perioperative patients with breast cancerand promote the positive way of the patients dealing with cancer.Methods:The108patients hospitalized in the breast surgery department due to the definitediagnosis of breast cancer for the first time were divided into the test group (52cases) andcontrol group (56cases), according to the method of random number table. The patients in thecontrol group were given routine nursing. The interview method was used to understand thetraits of hardiness factors of the patients in the test group after hospitalization. Also thesefactors were stimulated by individualized psychological intervention measures for the nursingintervention from three aspects of conceptual structure of hardiness including cognitionadjustment, belief adjustment, and behavior adjustment. The Medical Coping ModesQuestionnaire (MCMQ), Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS) were used to evaluate coping styles and the negative psychological stress scale of thepatients in both two groups1day before surgery (before intervention) and7days after surgery. Therefore, the difference in coping styles and negative psychological status between the twogroups after psychological intervention with the conceptual theory of hardiness were analyzed.Results:(1)The score of the “Coping” dimension in the questionnaire in the group of patientswith breast cancer was higher than that of the control group,p<0.01, indicating statisticallysignificant differences.(2)The depression score of the patients in the test group after intervention was lower thanthat of the control group,P=0.014, indicating statistically significant differences. In addition, the score of “Yield” dimension decreased,p<0.01, indicating statistically significantdifferences. And when it comes to the comparison of other dimensions, no statisticallysignificant difference was found.(3)In the control group, the score of “Yield” dimension of the patients7days aftersurgery increased compared with that before surgery, p=0.004, indicating statisticallysignificant differences. The depression score decreased, p=0.032, indicating statisticallysignificant differences.(4)In the test group, the score of “Coping” dimension of the patients7days after surgeryincreased compared with that before surgery, but no statistically significant difference wasfound. The score of “Avoiding” dimension decreased, without statistically significantdifferences. The score of “Yield” dimension decreased, p=0.004,with statistically significantdifferences. The anxiety score decreased, without statistically significant differences. Thedepression score decreased, p=0.031, with statistically significant differences.(5)Seven days after surgery, the incidences of anxiety and depression in the test groupwere higher than these of the test group, and the p were respectively0.0059and0.0215,indicating statistically significant differences.Conclusion:(1) The perioperative patients with breast cancer are in a positive way to deal with cancer, with negative psychology at the same time.(2) Seven days after surgery, breast cancer patients tend to get rid of the negative copingstyles.(3) The improving effect of psychological intervention of conceptual theory of hardinesson the positive coping styles of perioperative patients with breast cancer is not obvious.(4) For perioperative patients with breast cancer, the psychological intervention ofconceptual theory of hardiness can reduce the frequency of negative psychological experienceand the occurrence of depression.
