Objective: This study is to observe the influence on symptoms and FSH byelectroacupuncturing Tianshu(ST25), Guanyuan(CV4), Zigong(EX-CA1), and Sanyinjiao(SP6) acupoints in patients with perimenopausal syndrome, by contrast with shamelectroacupuncturing non-acupoints and to observe effect of electroacupuncture whentreating perimenopausal syndrome. Methods: The clinical study of44cases selected were randomly divided intoelectroacupuncture group and sham electroacupuncture group which were observed beforeand after treatment, as shown the changes of MRS and FSH in the two groups and the datawere statistically analyzed (t test) to observe the differences between the two groups. Results: Clinical studies have shown that electroacupuncture and shamelectroacupuncture can reduce the syndrome. The results indicate that the former canreduce FSH in serum while the latter cannot. Comparing the difference between twogroups, after4weeks’ treatment, electroacupuncture group does better on reducing theMRS score than sham electroacupuncture group, the same as after8weeks. Thesignificance between the two groups maybe results from the changes of FSH.Conclusion: Electroacupuncture have effect in relieving the symptoms ofperimenopausal syndrome, except consoling effect. However, consoling effect is of greatimportance in treating this disease.
