Research On Financing And Compensation Of Urban Community Health Service In China

As one kind of primary medical care patterns, urban Community Health Service(CHS) plays a very special role in relieving the difficulty in poor accessibility andhigh cost of obtaining medical service. Urban CHS in China starts late, and the overalldevelopment level is lower than that of CHS in developed countries. There is a biggap between the two. Due to unsound financing and compensation system, narrowfinancing channels and insufficient compensation fund, urban CHS institutions havedifficulty in maintaining stable operation, and the sustainable development of urbanCHS is constrained. Improving financing and compensation system becomes the toptask of developing urban CHS.This thesis first reviews the development history of urban CHS, and clarifies thenecessity of establishing perfect financing and compensation system. Then, it analysesthe problems of current financing and compensation system by studying threerepresentative urban CHS institutions in Wuhan. In the fourth chapter, it introducesthe characteristics of CHS in Britain and US, and analyses the successful experiencesof financing and compensation. In the fifth chapter, a series of feasible suggestions areput forward to improve and perfect financing and compensation system of urban CHSin China.
