Objective:The purpose of clinical research is to observe the clinical effects of combined treatments with extracorporeal shock wave treatment and electric acupuncture for traumatic achilles tendonitis to explore its treatment mechanism, and thus to provide the new methods and ideas for the treatment of patients with traumatic achilles tendonitis.Methods:Select24cases of patients with traumatic achilles tendonitis which met the inclusion criteria from out-patient treatment the affiliated sports hospital of Xi’an Physical Eeducation Institute and Health care and Rehabilitation Association of Xi’an Physical Eeducation Institute from November2011to October2013.24cases of patients with traumatic achilles tendonitis were randomly divided into ESWT group, electric acupuncture group and combined group. Visual analog scale (VAS) and AOFAS were used to evaluate the pain degree before,1week.2weeks,4weeks and8weeks after treatment, and VAS weighted value was used to evaluate the clinical effect8weeks after treatment in all3groups.Results:(1) VAS and AOFAS scores were dramatically declined after treatment at all phases in3groups, and those in combined group were declined more significantly than in ESWT group and electric acupuncture group (p<0.05).(2) Improvement in ESWT group was more significant than in electric acupuncture group at8th week after treatment (p<0.05).(3) VAS and AOFAS scores were gradually decreased in combined group and ESWT group, but increased at8th week after treatment in electric acupuncture group.(4) The curative rate in combined group was obviously higher than in ESWT group and electric acupuncture group, and that in ESWT group was higher than in electric acupuncture group (p<0.05).Conclusion:ESWT and electric acupuncture are both effective in treating traumatic achilles tendonitis, combined treatments can increase the short term and long term effects, and it not only can play instant analgesia of electric acupuncture, and can play better long-term effect of shock waves.
