Study On Clinical Efficacy And The Influence On The5-HT Level By Bupiyangxin Treatment In The Treating Depression

Objective: This paper aims to observe how Bupiyangxin treatment influences the5-HT level of depression patients with deficiency of heart and spleen, as well as its clinicalefficacy, and discuss its mechanism of action.Methods: Clinically60cases of depression patients who conform to the standard arechosen and randomly divided into two groups, that is, the treatment group and controlgroup,30patients in each group. Guipi decoction is given to traditional Chinese medicinetreatment group in contrast with control group who is given western medicine(hydrochloric acid fluoxetine capsule). Six weeks for one period of treatment, the twogroups are observed and evaluated in the following aspects: the5-HT level beforetreatment and six weeks after the treatment, HAMD scores, HAMD deduction rate andHAMD curative effect of traditional Chinese medicine before the treatment and2,4,6weeks after the treatment as well as TCM symptoms deduction rate, TCM symptomcurative effect, and side effects drug reactions through Asberg scale assessment.Results: After six weeks’ treatment, two groups of patients’ serum5-HT level iselevated (P <0.05), no significant difference is observed between the two.(P>0.05);After treatment, HAMD scores and subtract points rate in the two groups of patients aresignificantly lower than before the treatment (P <0.05), but the difference between the twogroups is no significant (P>0.05). HAMD curative effect has no significant difference (P>0.05); two weeks after the treatment, symptom scores of the treatment group is betterthan the control group (P <0.05). TCM symptom curative effect in treatment group isbetter than in control group (P <0.05)while in4weeks,6weeks, the two groups show nosignificant difference (P>0.05); Decline amplitude of Asberg side reaction scale score intreatment group is better than in control group (P <0.05).Conclusion: Deficiency of heart and spleen is an important pathogenesis ofdepression. Bupiyangxin treatment is one of the most important treatments. Guipidecoction is the effective prescription. Application of Bupiyangxin treatment, similarcurative effect is achieved in HAMD, TCM symptoms curative effect and the optimalsolution (hydrochloric acid fluoxetine capsule),no obvious side effects are observed. Inrelieving the symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine, the effect is faster than the optimal solution (hydrochloric acid fluoxetine capsule). Its mechanism of action is to better theclinical symptoms through improving blood5-HT level of the depression patients.
