Objective:Hepatitis C is a viral by hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, mainly through blood transfusion, needle, drug abuse and other communication. As an important indicator of the efficacy of hepatitis C patients predicted, HCV genotyping is important for monitoring changes in HCV genotype, tracking the source of infection, analyze trends, and for HCV infection, dissemination, treatment and prevention. To investigate the characteristics of Uygur and Han patients with hepatitis C virus genotyping in Xinjiang, and to provide information for diagnosis, treatment, prognosis. Methods:Samples collected from June,2013 to January,2014 in our hospital, and HCV-PCR>1x103, each 130 samples of Han and Uygur patients, then using PCR-RDB for HCV genotyping. Results:As the results, Han,60 males, age 46 ± 15 years old,70 females, aged 50 ± 16 years; Uygur,70 males, age 42 ± 11 years old,60 females, age 50 ± 14 years. Type lb of two ethnic were 61.5%,64.6%, type 2a were 24.6%,11.5%, type 3a were 6.9%,10.0% and type 3b were 3.9%,8.5%. Type 2a significant difference between two ethnic,8%).2a was dominant genotype in the Han nationality (P<0.05). Conclusion: A preliminary proof of HCV genotype in Xinjiang area is mainly in 1b type, consistent with domestic, but 2a genotype of Han infected more than Uighurs.
