Objective To evaluate recipient, understand, and cognition of medical graduate students for the Shanghai city resident standardization training policy and identify its influence on employment, and put forward reasonable suggestions to modify this policy.Method first, qualitative interviews has been used t ocollect their understand, cognition, and demand of medical graduate students for the Shanghai city resident standardization training policy; secondly, questionnaire survey developed to assess the policy awareness and responsiveness among graduate students in the Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine college; at last, analyze the data of the employment situation of master’s and doctoral graduates during the past 6 years, (each three years when this standardized training policy took effect before or after) and identify its affect on employment situation for clinic Master’s and doctoral graduates in Jiaotong University.Results The results of qualitative interviews shows:, there were 29 interviewees expressed satisfaction with the implementation of hospital physicians standardized training policy among interviewed 30 residents in total.27 interviewees think that they understend adequately this policy after the standardized training of resident physicians, and they are willing to accept the standardized training of resident physicians. All the interviewees think it is helpful to improve their clinic skill, esp. in greatly improving the ability of independent and individual, after upgrading the standardized training of residents, and there lay a solid foundation for the clinical service. But also they believe there was a gap between salary and their compensation. Some reform need consult, such as:to increase personal selection, in (he rotation time already set of circumstances in addition, and they hope the compliance training mode is more humanized, do according to their requirements, as long as they can pass the examination, no restriction on compliance training time.Questionnaire survey has been developed in 2010 clinical medical professional doctorate and master graduates with 120 questionnaires, and there was 100 valid questionnaires received (the rate of receved was 83.3%) including 48 male,52 female. The survey found respondents beleived their ideal work units are all hospitals, but only 35% of people will choose the standardized training of residents,58%of the people are not willing to participate in the standardized training of residents,45% of the people are skeptical of the standardized training of resident physicians, feel the standardized training of residents on his occupation career and expectations bring some negative effects, but because of various objective reasons only reluctantly accept, they want to include the improvement measures:76% of the people want to improve Shanghai city resident standardization training treatment,68% of the people want the relevant departments to continue to improve the policy implementation, ensure fairness, hope to have the professional staff to provide policy interpretation for the students, hope the government can give the standardized training of residents after leaving Shanghai staff in preferential policies, promote re employment advantage. 30% of the people want to participating in the standardized training of residents can work at the three level of first-class hospital,65% people are willing to participate in the standardized training of residents after the selection of two class hospital or community hospital.93% people may be in attending the standardized training of residents choose to leave Shanghai, to the second city employment. The standardized training of residentsThe employment situation analysis found:there was 3291 graduate-students (2304 for master degree, and 987 for doctoral degree) from 2007 to 2012 in Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine. And analysis through the data statistics, before and after the resident standardization training policy, employment of medical graduates rate had significant difference, policy implementation doctoral student, the employment rate declined significantly, mainly is the clinical medicine specialty, the employment rate declined. While the policy is implemented, the employment rate of the master also significantly decreased, and the basic medicine and clinical medicine professional graduate employment rate is decreased, and the decline rate is higher than the employment rate of doctoral decline. The survey also found that, different students and gender for the resident standardization training system before and after the implementation of the employment rate of doctoral students and postgraduates have no effect. Policy, PhD majoring in clinical medicine students choose Shanghai to reduce the probability, and graduate of clinical medicine students choose Shanghai probability increase.Conclusion the resident physician training policy mainly influence the group is clinical medicine professional medical students, on the basis of medical professional medical students have no effect. Therefore, medical colleges and universities of high level talents employment rate of decline in addition to standardized residents training policy affecting hospitalization, and Shanghai overall employment environment, academic requirements, the cost of living pressure etc., are the reasons leading to the decline in employment rates. Residents training policy can improve their clinical ability in medical service skills, provide a platform for the role of good graduate students to improve their level of development and social medicine, but medical research in university policy understanding is not enough, resulting in negative and suspicious of policy, the relevant departments should strengthen the propaganda. At the same time, we should further improve the trainee income, gradually unified doctoral students after graduation training period; further policies and the compensation is to ensure that the necessary conditions for the smooth progress of hospital training doctors specification.
