Observation On Therapeutic Effect Of Refreshment And Tranquilization Acupuncture For Treatment Of Somatoform Pain Disorder

Objective:Compare with the difference of therapeutic efficacy between refreshment and tranquilization acupuncture and oral western medicine Deanxit for treatment of somatoform pain disorder.Methods:The 40 cases of somatoform pain patients (combining mid- to -moderate depression) were randomly divided into the acupuncture group and western medication group, and 20 cases of each group. The acupuncture group was treated with acupuncture at Shenting, Shuihou, Sishencong-Baihui, Fengchi, once daily,50min per treatment,six times per week and only one day off on Sunday. The western medication group was treated with Deanxit,1 capsule in the morning and noontime. All the treatment was given for 8 weeks, assess the efficacy before the treatment,4 weeks,8 weeks by using Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) and Hamilton depression scale (HAMD), and observe the adverse reaction of the two groups,3 moths later follow-up to observe the recurrence.Results:1、After treatment, VAS scale and HAMD were decreased significantly in the two groups (all P< 0.05). The decreasing degree of the VAS scale in the acupuncture group was more obvious than that in the western medication group (2.15± 1.04 VS 1.50±1.10,P< 0.05). The cured and markedly effective rate of 50.0%(10/20) in the acupuncture group was superior to that of 15.0%(3/20) in the western medication group(P<0.05); There is no significant difference between the two groups about the HAMD scores(3.95±1.32 VS 3.25±1.25, P>0.05).2、The acupuncture group had no adverse reactions,and there was 3 patients with dizziness、tremor、dry mouth、constipation in the western medication group.3、Three months after the treatment,the recurrence rate was 10.0%(2/20)in the acupuncture group, lower than 35.0%(7/20) in the western medication group (P< 0.05).Conclusion:The resuscitation and tranquilization acupuncture technique achieves the definite efficacy on somatoform pain disorder Relieves depression symptoms of patients, especially pain and reduces adverse reactions and recurrence rate. The effects of this therapy are advanced as compared with deanxit.
