| Objective To investigate the social and psychological factors of the somatoform disorder patients. To study the differences between the somatoform disorder patients and normal people in traumatic experiences ,coping styles,parental rearing behavior and social support.to provide the basis of preventions and psychotherapy for the somatoform disorder patients.Methods A cross-sectional investigation were conducted in 34 patients with somatoform disorder from Jan 2009 to Jan 2010,who were treated at Mental Health Centre of Anhui Province. All the patients were accorded with the criteria of CCMD-3 for somatoform disorder survey the patients and control group ,the questionnaire include demographic information, symptoms,Essener Trauma-Inventar (ETI), Coping Style Questionnaire (YFFS), EMBU and the Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS). Talks to the patients with lower educational who can not understand the meaning of the scales.Selected 34 persons never gone to the mental hospital with no physical discomfort, and were matching with the patients in age, sex and educational level who willing to cooperate as the control group.Results The study group experienced more trauma than the control group(P <0.01); The study of 34 patients(study group) and 34 normal people(control group) showed that there were significant differences between the two groups in the way to solve the problem, fantasy, self-blame, and retreat (P <0.05).There are differences between the two groups in the way his father refused to deny parenting (F5), over-protecting (F6) and her mother rearing in the way the excessive interference being too protective of (M2) (P <0.05);there were significant differences between the two groups in the social support total score, the objective of social support, subjective social support and utilization of social support (P <0.01).Father emotional warmth and understanding of the correctional factor (F1) and social support total score, objective social support and subjective social support was positively related to preferences were tested (F4) and subjective social support was positively related to; mother emotional warmth and understanding of the correctional factor (M1 ) and social support total score, the objective of social support, subjective social support and utilization of social support was positively related to excessive interference over-protective (M2) and social support total score, subjective social support was positively related to, but refused to deny (M3) and the degree of social support that exists between the use of negative correlation.Conclusions Compared with normal subjects, experiences of somatoform disorders patients have been more traumatic.In the coping way, fantasy, self-blame, retreat those immature coping styles are preferred by the somatoform disorders patients rather than any other mature coping style in problem solving process.Patients with somatoform disorders parental rearing be more inclined to excessive interference protection, refused to deny; in social support and the utilization of social support is obviously less than normal. |
