Clinical Observation On Treating Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy Of Blood Stasis By Qianghuo Exterior Washing Treatment

ObjectiveThe aim of the present study was to examine the efficacy of QiangHuo exterior washing treatment for the treatment of DPN (Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy), and to probe its mechanism. Also try to summarize the features and advantages of this treatment.Methods60 eligible patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group comparing 50mg Epalrestat Tablets 3 times/day+QiangHuo exterior washing treatment (treatment group) with placebo 50mg Epalrestat Tablets 3 times/day+warm water washing legs (control group) for 8 weeks. Their therapeutic effects and changes of clinical symptoms integral, hemorheology, glucose, lipidemia, nerve conductive velocity etal before and after treatment were investigated.Resultsclinical efficacy:The treatment group had a total of 30 cases, including 2 cases of cured,7 cases of markedly effective,19 cases of effective,2 cases of invalid, the total effective rate was 93.33%. The control group had a total of 30 cases, including 0 cases of cured,4 cases of markedly effective,18 cases of effective,8 cases of invalid, the total effective rate was 73.33%. There was statistical difference between the two groups by the chi square test results(pearson chi square=4.320, P=0.038).clinical symptoms integral:The two groups can effective in reducing the clinical symptoms integral, but the treatment group was better than that of the control group. There was statistical difference between the two groups by the independent-samples t test results(P=0.026<0.05)hemorheology:The two groups can effective in improving the hemorheology (including whole blood low shear viscosity, whole blood viscosity in high shear rate, erythrocyte aggregation coefficient, erythrocyte rigidity),but the treatment group was better than that of the control group(p<0.05).nerve conductive velocity:The two groups can effective in increasing the nerve conductive velocity (including the Motor nerve conduction velocities of tibial nerve and peroneal nerve, Sensory nerve conduction velocities of Sural nerve), the index of treatment group was better than that of the control group (p<0.05).Glucose and lipidemia:The two groups before and after treatment in patients with fasting blood glucose, postprandial 2 hours blood glucose, HBA1C, total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein, high density lipoprotein controlled in a stable level, no obvious fluctuation(P>0.05).ConclusionQiangHuo exterior washing treatment may significantly improve the clinical symptom of DPN patients. The mechanics may relate to blood vessel dilation, blood flow increasing and microcirculation improvement.
