Clinical Research On “Yang Xin Tiao Shen” Acupuncture Treatment Of Irritable Bowel Syndrome With Diarrhea(IBS-D)(Liver Depression And Spleen Deficiency Syndrome)

Objective To clinical research on “Yang Xin Tiao Shen” Acupuncture Treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea(IBS-D)(Liver Depression and Spleen Deficiency Syndrome) by observing curative effect comparing with traditional acupuncture treatment, which is in order to get the best optimization scheme, relieving patients’ pain, improving the quality of life, providing a new and unique therapy for clinic and using to popularization and application. Methods The research had accorded with the inclusion criteria to choose 60 cases of IBS-D(Liver Depression and Spleen Deficiency Syndrome)by using randomized and controlled scientific research design principles. Before the treatment, the general situation of two groups(sex, age, course of disease) had the comparability with no statistical difference(P>0.05).Every symptoms cases and the total symptom score between the two groups had the comparability with no statistical difference(P>0.05). The Anxiety and depression cases and the total symptom score between the two groups had the comparability with no statistical difference(P>0.05). The treatment group 30 cases had treated with “Yang Xin Tiao Shen” Acupuncture, the control group 30 cases had treated with traditional acupuncture, three times a week and ten times for a course.We assessed the effect with observing clinical symptom scale, self-evaluation of anxiety scale(SAS) and depression self rating scale(SDS) by statistical analysis after the two courses. Results(1) Comparison every group before and after treatment:The two groups could improve the patient’s clinical symptoms(abdominal pain, diarrhea, abdominal distension, endless stool, irritability, hypochondriac pain and nausea).The self-evaluation of symptom scale,anxiety scale(SAS) and depression self rating scale(SDS) had statistical difference before and after treatment(P<0.05).(2) Comparison Between the two groups:The every symptom’s cure rate and effective rate of “Yang Xin Tiao Shen” Acupuncture group were higher than traditional acupuncture group before and after treatment. The self-evaluation of symptom scale had statistical difference before and after treatment(P<0.01).The symptoms(abdominal pain, abdominal distension, irritability and hypochondriac pain)comparison of cure and effective rate had statistical difference(P<0.05).The symptoms(diarrhea and nausea)comparison of cure rate had statistical difference(P<0.05),effective rate had no statistical difference(P > 0.05).The endless stool comparison of cure rate and effective rate had no statistical difference(P>0.05).The self-evaluation of anxiety scale(SAS) and depression self rating scale(SDS) had statistical difference between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05).(3) Among the 30 cases in “Yang Xin Tiao Shen” Acupuncture group,8 cases clinically cured,13 cases with obvious effect,7 cases with effect, 2 cases with no effect, the cure rate and effective rate was 70.00%,the total effective rate was 93.33%.The 30 cases in traditional acupuncture group,4 cases clinically cured,9 cases with obvious effect,9 cases with effect, 8 cases with no effect, the cure rate and effective rate was 43.33%,the total effective rate was 73.33%.The cure rate and effective rate had statistical difference between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05).(4) The total curative effect showed:There was no statistical difference comparing the all ages with curative effect(P>0.05).There was statistical difference comparing the all courses with curative effect(P<0.05). Conclusion(1) Both “Yang Xin Tiao Shen” Acupuncture and traditional acupuncture are effective to IBS-D(Liver Depression and Spleen Deficiency Syndrome).(2) The total curative effect of “Yang Xin Tiao Shen” Acupuncture group was better than that of traditional acupuncture group in treating IBS-D(Liver Depression and Spleen Deficiency Syndrome).(3) The two acupuncture treatment could improve every symptom. The cure rate and effective rate of “Yang Xin Tiao Shen” Acupuncture group were better than that of traditional acupuncture group except for diarrhea and nausea.(4) The improvement of “Yang Xin Tiao Shen” Acupuncture group was better than that of traditional acupuncture group in anxiety and depression.(5) The anxiety and depression scale scores and symptom rating scale were positively related to each other before and after treatment in the research, which suggests anxiety or depression was associated with clinical symptoms, the gastrointestinal symptoms and mental state had improved with the increase of acupuncture treatment. The IBS patients with mental disorders may due to the abnormal intestinal function.(6) The total curative effect showed:The curative effect had nothing to do with the age;The shorter the course of the disease, the better therapeutic effect, the opposite was relatively poor.
