Objective To study the clinical characteristics, pathological types, stages, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of the multiple primary cancers involving lung cancer.Methods The clinical data of 49 multiple primary cancer patients involving lung cancer were analyzed retrospectively, which was from The first affiliated hospital of Guangxi medical university from January,2003 to January,2015. According to the theory of field cancerization, the date is divided into two groups. The first group of MPC is high risk for lung combined with respiratory system which including nose, tongue, oral cavity, pharynx, larynx and trachea. The second group of MPC is high risk for lung combined with other organs. We used SPSS 16.0 for general inspection comparison to analyze the data.Results There were 49 cases of MPC associated with lung cancer in our department from January 2003 to January 2015. The male to female ratio was 5 to 1 in the first group and 1 to 1.8 in the second group. The MPC were diagnosed in the first group of the median age was 54 years old, the second group was 61. The first group of the first primary cancer for other organs in 17 cases, accounted for 94%, most common in nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The second group with 25 cases, accounted for 81%, with the most common breast cancer, cervical cancer. In confirmed pathologically about lung cancer, the first group of 9 cases and the second group of 11 cases were squamous carcinoma; The first group of 7 cases and the second group of 20 cases were adenocarcinoma; The first group in 2 cases were small cell carcinoma and second group have no one. The first group of lung cancer received radical surgery were 6 cases, accounted for about 33.33%, the second group were 20 cases, accounted for about 64.52%. Survival time of the first group was for 1 month to 5 years, the second group was for 2 months to 6 years.Conclusion The cases of MPC will increase gradually. The malignant level of lung cancer may be worse in MPC of respiratory. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy after radical surgery may improve the prognosis of lung cancer in the MPC.
