Purpose and Significance:This study will explore an effective, feasible, safe treatment with non-toxic and side-effect in Vascular Cognitive Impairment based on the clinical observation of clinical effect of Acupuncture and Moxibustion for the treatment of Vascular Cognitive Impairment, in order to add more clinical treatments of Vascular Cognitive Impairment and increase the curative effect of clinical treatment of Vascular Cognitive Impairment, so as to improve the quality of life of patient.Methods:60 patients met clinical criteria were randomly divided into Acupuncture and Moxibustion group, Conventional Acupuncture group and Aricept group according to random number table (see table A). Patients in Acupuncture and Moxibustion group received Baihui and Yongquan acupoint moxibustion plus conventional acupuncture, and patients in Conventional Acupuncture group received dialectical acupoint selection conventional acupuncture, and patients in Aricept group took 5mg qn of Aricept orally,2 months for a period of treatment, to evaluate MMSE and MoCA (see attached table B and table C).Results:After two months, the intra-group MMSE scale and MOCA scores on pre-therapy and post-treatment had significantly differences in all three groups (P<0.01); the MMSE and MOCA scores differed significantly between the Acupuncture and Moxibustion group, Conventional Acupuncture group and Aricept group (P<0.05); the differences of curative effects compared between Acupuncture and Moxibustion group and Acupuncture group had no statistical significance (P>0.05); while the differences of curative effects compared between Acupuncture group and Aricept group had no statistical significance (P>0.05);but the differences of curative effects compared between Acupuncture and Moxibustion group and Aricept group had statistical significance (P<0.05).Conclusion:The curative effect of Acupuncture and Moxibustion techniques on Vascular Cognitive Impairment and the degree of neurologic impairment is affirmed, as compared with Acupuncture group and Western medicine of Aricept control group, has significant advantages, it is an economical and effective method for the treatment of Vascular Cognitive Impairment.
