Clinical Study On Treatment Of Vascular Cognitive Impairment With Acupuncture Combined With "Warming Yang And Tonifying Kidney" Moxibustion

Objective This study adopts acupuncture combined with "Warming Yang and tonifying kidney" moxibustion to treat Vascular Cognitive Impairment(VCI).By observing the changes of scale scores and blood indexes before and 12 weeks after treatment,the therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with Warming Yang and tonifying kidney moxibustion on VCI was analyzed and judged,so as to provide a green,safe,effective treatment method which can reflect the advantages of traditional chinese medicine for clinical treatment of VCI.Methods Sixty patients who met the VCI inclusion criteria were selected in this study.They were from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,which were deivided into acupuncture combined with moxibustion group and western medicine group according to 1:1 ratio by random number table.The acupuncture combined with moxibustion group was treated by acupuncture combined with Warming Yang and tonifying kidney moxibustion.The western medicine group was treated with donepezil hydrochloride orally.The levels of MMSE,MoCA,ADL,TCM syndrome scale,plasma Hcy and serum CRP were observed before and 12 weeks after treatment.The indexes were compared between the two groups before and after treatment,and to make statistical analysis.During the treatment,the adverse reactions of the two groups were observed,and the data of the two groups were compared and analyzed by statistical software.The clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated and the conclusion was drawn.Results 1.Comparison of comprehensive clinical efficacy: 12 weeks after treatment,the total effective rate of the acupuncture combined with moxibustion group is 90.00%,and that of the western medicine group is 73.33%.After analysis and comparison,the cupuncture combined with moxibustion group is superior to the western medicine group which show significance of statistics(P<0.05).2.The result of comparison of scores of MMSE,MoCA,TCM syndromes and ADL scales:there was no statistical significance(P>0.05)in comparison between the two groups of patients before treatment in terms of scale scores.After 12 weeks of treatment,the scores of MMSE,MoCA and ADL scales in the two groups were improved compared with those before treatment.The scores of TCM syndrome scale were decreased compared with those before treatment.The intra-group comparison was statistically significant(P<0.01),and the inter-group comparison was statistically significant(P<0.01).3.Comparison of the levels of plasma Hcy,serum CRP between the two groups before and after treatment:There was no significant difference in plasma Hcy and serum CRP between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After 12 weeks of treatment,the levels of plasma Hcy and serum CRP in the two groups were compared within the group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01),and the difference was statistically significant between the two groups(P<0.05).4.Safety evaluation:all the 60 patients in this study successfully completed the treatment,no cases of exfoliation.The safety indicators of the two groups before and 12 weeks after treatment: there were no obvious abnormalities in the three routines,blood pressure,blood sugar,blood lipid and electrocardiogram.There was no significant difference in liver and kidney function between the two groups before and after treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture combined with Warming Yang and tonifying kidney moxibustion and taking donepezil hydrochloride orally can both improve the cognitive function of VCI patients to some extent,but acupuncture combined with Warming Yang and tonifying kidney moxibustion is more effective than taking donepezil hydrochloride orally,with less side effects,higher safety and easier to be accepted by the majority of patients,which is conducive to clinical promotion and application.
