From January 2014 to May 2014, we interviewed 203 cases of family members of patients in ICU, which from TaiHe Hospital, Affiliated Hospital of Hubei University of Medicine. The Questionnaire is including the Self revision basic data scale, Chinese families of disease uncertainty scale, simple coping style questionnaire and social support rating scale. Data statistical description was analyzed by the mean, standard deviation, frequency and percentage.Using t test, One-Way ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were also used to carries on the statistical inference.Results:1.The score of uncertainty in illness about family members of patients in ICU is95.39±10.61, which at a high level. the ambiguity dimension scores is the highest but unpredictability dimension lowest.2. The research objects are including different dimensions, which are gender, age, occupation and the presence of a spouse. The sense of uncertainty in illness scores and there was no statistically significant difference in each dimension score(P>0.05); the subject of study with different educational level 、patients relationship、different family income、different family members residence、the way patients in ICU,acute physiology and chronic health evaluation and the medical expenses of payment were also statistically significant in uncertainty illness(P<0.05).3. Regression analysis showed that: family members residence 、 patients relationship、the way patients in ICU and the score of acute physiology and chronichealth evaluation of these four variables are the main factors that affect the level of uncertainty in illness about family members of patients in ICU with joint explained38.3% variation.4. The score of uncertainty in illness about family members of patients in ICU are negatively correlated with positive coping style(P<0.01), and negative coping were positively correlated(P<0.01); The score of uncertainty in illness about family members of patients in ICU are negatively correlated with social support and its three dimensions scores(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.
