Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors. According to World Health Organization(WHO) reports, colorectal cancer is the third and the second most common malignant neoplasms in the males and females respectively. In 2012, the world’s new cases of colorectal cancer for men are 746,000 cases which accounting for 10% percent of all malignant tumors and women are 614,000 cases which accounting for 9.2% percent of all malignant tumors. In our country the colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignant tumorsas well as the concern for malignancy, and in recent years the incidence rate and mortality rate increased year by year. Recurrence and metastasis are the main factors of poor prognosis in the colorectal cancer, whose the common metastatic sites are liver, kidney and skeletal system. In the 1990 s, Hellman and Weichsel-baum put forward the concept of " Oligometastatic " together. Oligometastatic is a state which refers to a milder period of the tumor biological invasion. Oligometastatic exists in the transition stage between limitation primary tumor and extensive metastasis, which has a limited numbr of the metastatic tumor and the specific metastatic organ. Oligometastatic is not only found in colorectal cancer, but also found in NSCLC, breast, bone and soft tissue sarcoma and so on.Multidisciplinary therapy(MDT) is based on the physical and mental state of the patient, the exact location of the tumor, histological type, extent of involvement(stage of disease) and trends, which combined with the changes of the cell and molecular biology. MDT is a systematic and reasonable application of existing multidisciplinary treatments, which achieve the best treatment effect with the most appropriate economic costs and at the same time maximum improve quality of patient life and survival time.
