Clinical Efficacy Study On The Treatment Of Senile Osteoporosis With "Wenshenjiangu Decotion"

Objective:Through analyzing and comparing the changes of clinical symptoms,signs, BMD,the index of bone metabolism before and after treatment,this research is to observe the clinical efficacy and the drug safety of Wenshenjiangu Decotion on treatment of senile osteoporosis,to lay the foundation of new formulations about Chinese medicine on clinical application and increase treatment options on antiosteoporosis.Methods:According to the case inclusion criteria, 60 senile osteoporosis patients came from the outpatient and the inpatient department in our hospital, were selected from January 2014. to September 2014, which were randomly divided into the trial group(traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine group) and control group(western medicine group). Both trial group and control group were treated with medicine for 3 months,before and after treatment, the levels of serum BGP, the levels of serum ICTP and BMD changes were all detected. TCM syndrome score in two groups was observed and analyzed.The clinical efficacy and adverse reactions were compared and evaluated after treatment,the clinical data was processed by the SPSS 18.0 statistical software package.Results:1) TCM syndrome score in both groups had stastically significant decline after treatment(P<0.05),and the sore in treatment group decreased more significantly,the difference was significant(P<0.05). The effective rate of treatment group was 93.3%,while the control group was 76.7%, there was stastically significant difference between them((P<0.05), the trial groups had better significant effects in symptom remission;2)The bone mineral density in two groups had been increased significantly after treatment(P<0.05), and the BMD in treatment group increased more significantly,the difference was significant(P<0.05), Wenshenjiangu Decotion could improve the patient’s bone mineral density;3) After 3 months of treatment,both trial group and control group had significantly enhanced the levels of serum BGP(P<0.05), there was stastically significant difference between them((P<0.05).Compared with before treatment, the levels of serum ICTP in two groups were decreased significantly(P<0.05),and the levels of serum ICTP in treatment group declined more significantly,the difference was significant(P<0.05),Wenshenjiangu Decotion could enhance the levels of serum BGP, and reduced the levels of serum ICTP;4)Before and after treatment, liver and kidney functions in both groups showed no abnormality.Conclusion:Combined with Wenshenjiangu Decotion could significantly relieve senile osteoporosis (kidey-yang deficiency type) patient’s clinical symptoms,and it had no adverse reactions.Besides,it could improve the patient’s bone mineral density.The major active constituent in these herbal medicines could improve the levels of serum BGP but decreace the levels of serum ICTP. It played an important role in the prevention and treatment of senile osteoporosis.
