With the further development of medical health information, military medical organization urgently requires establishing military electronic health records platform which is centered around regions. In view of previous regional electronic health records platform solution, which is not involved in the architecture of the underlying resources, has not yet formed the comprehensive framework from the bottom to up. The platform has not only existed some problems such as poor scalability, difficult maintenance, low utilization rate of resources, but also does not meet the massive data storage requirements. So in order to solve above problems, the cloud computing solution has been proposed.Cloud computing, which is a way of sharing resources architecture, is committed to optimizing the allocation of resources. It can connect varieties of resources together to form a resources pool, and provides users resources with the model of services. Based on cloud computing to build the regional military electronic health records platform, it can establish IT resources pool and information pool, which provides services for the users with the form of SaaS, and it makes full use of sharing resources’ advantages to meet the needs of mass data computing. This way provides a new method for building regional military electronic health records platform.This paper which is under the background of military electronic health records’ resource sharing demands, proposes the cloud-based regional military electronic health records platform architecture solution based on the cloud computing and realted technologies researches. This solution focus on cloud storage technology, and provides solutions for the underlying IT resources sharing and data storage implementation. Also it establishes the IaaS private cloud platform which is based on VMware vSphere to integration infrastructure resources, and implements the cloud computing electronic health records data storage system to provide users data storage. The main study work and innovations of this paper are as follows:(1) The paper studies the theory and key technologies of cloud computing, and uses them to build cloud-based military electronic health records platform. According to the cloud computing’s features and architecture, also the demands of military electronic health records platform, the paper proposes the new ideas to establish the regional military electronic health records platform.(2) The paper proposes the framework of cloud computing-based regional military electronic health records platform. Firstly, it analyzes the military electronic health records. Secondly, it describes the logical architecture, physical structure and platform support system. Then, it gives the data center solutions for cloud computing regional military electronic health records platform. At last, it studies and builds the IaaS private cloud which is based on VMware vSphere to provide hardware support for the platform’s data storage.(3) The paper studies cloud storage technology, and proposes the data storage strategy and data processing model for cloud computing regional military electronic health records platform. It adopts the distributed storage technology, and uses hybrid storage model which is combined Hadoop with relational databases to form storage resources of platform, and analyses the platform’s data management method in order to provide technical support for the platform’s data storage.(4) The paper designs and implements the cloud computing electronic health records data storage system. Firstly, it designs the logic structures and functions of cloud computing electronic health records data storage system. The system is divided into foreground user system and background management system, and uses the mixed storage mode and MyEclipse to develop the electronic health which is under the framework of J2EE SSH. At last, this paper tests this system, and the system has reached the expected targets.
