Research Of The Effect And Mechanism Of Chaiqin Wendan Decoction In Treating Phlegm-heat Cough

Objective: Through clinical observation to make objective evaluation on the clinical effect of Chaiqin Wendan Decoction on treating phlem-heat cough. Method: Choosing randomized, parallel, controlled design in the observation. In conformity with the diagnostic code collecting 92 cases: 62 cases in the treatment group, 30 cases in the control group. The treatment group was given Chaiqin Wendan Decoction, where Chinese medicine decocting room of Yunnan Province TCM Hospital made, 100 ml each time and three times a day. The control group was given Qingfei Huatan pills, each taking 1 bag(6g/ bag), 3 times a day, by boiling water. Observeing the difference between two groups of symptoms and treatment effect after the treatment. Results: 1. The treatment group is better than the control group in the TCM syndrome curative effect. 2. The main symptoms of TCM syndrome score, cough and spiting sputum of the treatment group, had significant difference(p<0.01) in the group. It meant that two groups of drugs had significant improvement after the treatment of the main symptoms. But there was no statistically significant difference between the groups(p>0.05).That drug treatment group and the control group in the main symptoms had no statistically significant difference. The curative effect of cure rate of cough was 63.3%, and the effective rate was 85.5%; the control group cough obvious curative rate was 53.3%, and the effective rate was 80.0%.There were no statistical differences between the two groups(p>0.05). It meant two groups of drugs on treating cough had a better therapeutic effect. The cure rate of the treatment group of spiting sputum is 38.7%, and the effective rate was 74.2%. The treatment group cure rate of spiting sputum was 23.3% and the effective rate was 90.0%.There was no statistical difference between the two groups(p>0.05). Explaining that the two group of spiting sputum can both be effective.3.There were also other significant improvements in fever, dry mouth, bitter taste of mouth, improvement of sore throat, chest distending, irritability, constipation, yellow urine and poor sleep. Conclusion: Chaiqin Wendan Decoction has better therapeutic effect in the treatment of syndrome of phlegm-heat cough and could improve the clinical symptoms and reduce patients’ discomfort in clinical observation There was no untoward effect of Chaiqin Wendan Decoction during the clinical observation. Chaiqin Wendan Decoction can be extended in the treatment of syndrome of phlegm-heat cough.
