The Research On The Current Medical Social Services In Shenzhen And The Strategy On Its Development

At present China, the medical and health care reform is imminent as the medical social problems becomingsubstantially prominent under its complex environment. The traditional biomedical model no longer fits into the current social development and therefore, a new medical model comprising of modern-biology, psychology and socio-medical is required for the medical and health care reform. The model should also be filled with humanism, for instance, full of humanisticcare for patients. And it should also arouse the interests at social work services from the government, medical and health parties, patients and other related parties.This paper illustrates some core concepts and theories of medical social work, public services, the supply of public products, the limited and service governances by literature reviews and empirical analysis, in order to bring enlightenment on the current medical social work in Shenzhen. The analysis is based on the investigation on the behaviors of the medical workers and patients on the four randomly selected medical institutions in Longgang District of Shenzhen, which have already provided medical social services.By fully understanding the current implementation of the medical social workin Shenzhen’s Longgang District through the analysis, this paper aims to unveilthe factors affecting the quality of the medical social work service. Also,the results are analyzed from the perspective of management to project the effects on the four different parties-government, hospitals, medical social workers and patients. This paper ends with providing some feasible countermeasures and recommendations to the corresponding operations by collaborating the experiences on the medical social services in developed countries and regions, especially in the areas of institutional mechanisms, organization structures and management methods.
