Taking an important part in social civilization, hospic care is taken more concern in recent years. Especially in China, with the ageing of population growing in intensify and the number of cancerous person increasing, more and more people are taking view into the hospic care. Compared with the weatern countries, the career of hospic care of China gets off to a late start and because of traditional view to death, its development is slow. Even though the researches to hospic care are enhancing, most of them are just about its theories such as its necessity, its development models and its ethics principles, and less are involved in the field of practice. By researching the progects of hospic care in practice, the paper will state how to operate the hospic care in practice and if its operation means are accordance to the development situation of our country. I will take a deep thinking to the effection that is made by social works on hospic care.The paper is an exploratory research. It adopts qualitative research methods. Taking the public welfare activity "Social Work and Hospic Care" hold by R organization in Shenzhen city as an example, I paticipate in its activity and interview some related people so that I collect many materials to analyse the problems of hospic care. The paper will take the background, means and content of social work in the field of hospic care as the research object. By evaluating the the effectiveness made by social work, it makes a conclusion about the unique feature of social work. It consists of five parts.Part Ⅰ Introduction. It mainly states the background of its question and its research train of though, research meaning, research content and research methods. On the foundation of related research about hospic care, I conclude the research achivement that has been got and its shortage and it also shows the necessity of social work in the hospic care.Part Ⅱ Evaluation about the need of dying people. By interviewing, I sum up different problems from indivial level, family level and social level. The need mainly includes how to make themselves in ease, economic support-getting, social activities-participating, life-reviewing and respect-getting.Part Ⅲ Introduction about the methods and content of social work in. I conclude main methods in the process of program operation, namely, social case work----establishing professional relation, social team work----establishing a mutual team and social community work----establishing a supporting network. Besides that, I also analyse the main content, such as effective support, resources links, death education, life-reviewing and grief counselling.Part IV Effectiveness Analysis. After the social work involving, the dying people has taken a great change in indivial, team and social levels. In the personal level, the changes are that the negative emotions are conselled, they got a more rational cognitiveness to death and their family relations are improved. In the team level, the mutual team are formed and the team cognitiveness is improved. In social level, the consciousness to take care of the dying people is enchanced and supporting system is increasingly improved.Part V Conclusion. By analysing the above, I point out the advantage and the disadvantage of social work involvement. Social work has its unique professional feature, However, because the social work is in its infancy, there are many problems that need to be solved. I also try my best to reflect the meaning and the enlightenment that social work made on hospic care in professional view. For example, how to educate social workers to take psychologically self-protection and how to advance the development of social work in the field of hospic care. I hope all sectors of the community would take more concern on hospic care and the indigenization of social work can make a great development.
