| Aim:Through observing the indexes before and after treatment in patients with abdo-minal obesity, we are provided more evidences in selecting the effective frequency for appropriate clinical parameters of abdominal obesity.Method:The cases come from patients in the acupuncture wards and call for volunteers of Fuzhou General Hospital of Nanjing Military Region.The qualified patients are rando-mly classified into Groups of 20Hz electro-acupuncture group, 100Hz electro-acupun-cture group and OHz control group,Based on the clinical experience of professor Li,acupoints are selected at the Spleen Meridian of Foot-Taiyin(SP),Stomach Meridian of Foot-yangming(ST) and Ren Meridian(RN);After that, we connect the electro-acupuncture(Hua Tuo brand, SDZ-IIA)device to the needle handle of needles at Daheng(SP15),Tianshu,(ST25),Zhongwan (RN12),Guanyuan(RN4),and administer the continuous wave.The current flow is what patients can endure.The acupuncture frequency is divided into three groups,with included 20Hz; 100Hz and OHz.The needles maintain 30minutes each time. During the whole course of treatment patients take treatments every other day. A whole course of treatment includes 15 times which lasts about a month. Then the changes would be recorded in the indicators before and after treatment.Result:1.In terms of compliance:60 subjects entered the treatment phase,and finally 54 of them completed the entire course.The compliance of this study was 90%.2. Comparison of curative effect:After a course of treatment, the treatment effic-acy of each group is not significantly different(with Chi-Square Test). However, the clinical efficiency of 20Hz electro-acupuncture group is 83.3% which is better than 100Hz electro-acupuncture group(68.4%) and controlled group(58.8%).3.The index change:① Intra-group comparison:after a course of treatment,The fat thickness of subcu-taneous and visceral,waist circumference, body weight, body mass index were signifi-cantly decreased in the three group,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05 or P<0.01);beside,in the 20Hz electro-acupuncture group,the TC and TG decreased much, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05or P<0.01);②Inter-group comparison:Before the reatment of the three groups,there showed no significant difference,which indicating the three groups has comparable. After a co-urse of treatment, the fat thickness of subcutaneous and visceral,waist circumference of the 20Hz electro-acupuncture group reduced obviously when compared with the other groups and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).while in the subcutaneous fat thickness,weight,body mass index and lipid aspect, the three groups shows no significant difference (P>0.05);4.The correlation coefficients of abdominal subcutaneous and visceral fat thickn-ess and waist were r=0.477,r=0.691, P=0.00,linear regression analysis of variancewe-re F=108.93, F=318.02, P=0.00.Estimated regression equation is displayed:Whe Wa-ist= 85cm, subcutaneous fat thickness= 1.49cm and visceral fat thickness= 3.91cm.Conclusion:1. Three groups of acupuncture treatment can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of abdominal obesity patients, the electtro-acupuncture is better than acup-uncture in loss weight;2.After the treatment, the thickness of the patients subcutaneous fat and visceral fat has declined in the three groups, while the thickness of visceral fat is decrease significantly than the subcutaneous fat,whith indicate that acupuncture is mainly to reduce the waistline by reducing the thickness of visceral fat and thus achieve the effect of weight loss.3.Different frequencies electro-acupuncture will caused the change of puncturing effect,20Hz electro-acupuncture group in reducing the thickness of visceral fat, waist circumference,TC and TG are much better than the other two groups. which reveals that the 20Hz electro-acupuncture mainly plays its role in reducing the waist circumf- rence through cutting down the visceral fat thickness, which have certain clinical sig-nificance in preventing the metabolic syndrome. |
