The Survey Research On The Activities Of Daily Living And Its Influential Factors In The Community Elderly

Objectives The purpose of this thesis is to understand the status and to analyze theinfluencing factors of the activities of daily living in the community elderly.Methods Using the cluster sampling method, Investigations were carried out for1500aged people, from each communities of Tangshan Lubei Joe Tuen, in2012.9-11, byquestionnaires, including the elderly general demographic characteristics questionnaire(age, sex, education, marital status, economic status, health insurance, chronic diseases,etc.), ADL and Social Support Scale. All data were entered using Excel software to builda database, using SPSS13.0statistical software for statistical analysis.Results1Status of the elderly in community activities of daily living: the elderly incommunity activities of daily living function declined in varying degrees accounted for35.2%, instrumental activities of daily living function declined mainly, using publictransport, shopping, doing housework, laundry, cooking dishes fall obviously.2Singlefactor analysis of activities of daily living in the community elderly:①PhysicalActivities of Daily Living were significant in: age, education, marital status, sufferingfrom chronic disease, hypertension, heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis, self-rated healthstatus, bed, nearly six months whether to see the doctors and have uncomfortable,with/without hospitalization, with/without history of falls, medication, exercise or not, thebalance of payments, health insurance, pension insurance, housing satisfaction, familysupport, family medical supervision(P＜0.05);②Instrumental Activities of Daily Livingwere significant in: age, education, marital status, suffering from chronic disease,hypertension, heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis, self-rated health status, bed, nearly sixmonths whether to see the doctors and have uncomfortable, with/without hospitalization,,with/without history of falls, medication, exercise or not,the balance of payments, healthinsurance, pension insurance, housing satisfaction, family support, hobbies(P＜0.05);③The total Activities of Daily Living were significant in: age, education, maritalstatus,suffering from chronic disease, hypertension, heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis,self-rated health status, bed, nearly six months to whether to see the doctors and haveuncomfortable, with/without hospitalization, with/without history of falls, medication,exercise or not, the balance of payments, pension insurance, housing satisfaction, family support, family medical supervision (P＜0.05);3. Multiple factors analysis of activities ofdaily living of the community elderly:①The main influencing factors of PhysicalActivities of Daily Living were: age,self-rated health status, bed,nearly half year whetherto have uncomfortable, with or without hospitalization, stroke, exercise or not, familysupport;②The main influencing factors of Instrumental Activities of Daily Living were:age, marital status, nearly half year whether to have uncomfortable, nearly six monthswith or without hospitalization, stroke, with/without history of falls, medication, exerciseor not, pension insurance;③The main influencing factors of the total Activities of DailyLiving were: age, marital status, nearly half year whether to have uncomfortable, nearlysix months with or without hospitalization, stroke, with/without history of falls, exerciseor not, pension insurance, family support;Conclusions1The ADL of community elderly declined in varying degrees accountedfor35.2%, with instrumental activities of daily living function mainly declined.2Multiple factors analysis showed that age,self-rated health status, bed,nearly half yearwhether to have uncomfortable, with or without hospitalization, stroke, exercise or not,family support were the factors of Physical Activities of Daily Living; age, marital status,nearly half year whether to have uncomfortable, nearly six months with or withouthospitalization, stroke, with/without history of falls, medication, exercise or not, pensioninsurance were the factors of Instrumental Activities of Daily Living; age, marital status,nearly half year whether to have uncomfortable, nearly six months with or withouthospitalization, stroke, with/without history of falls, exercise or not, pension insurance,family support were the factors of the Activities of Daily Living.
