Objectives The aim of this study was to investigate the frailty of the elderly in rural areas and its influencing factors;to analyze the relationship between frailty and ADL of rural elderly.Methods Using multi-stage sampling method,investigate were carried out for 1381 rural old people,Juancheng county was randomly selected from eight counties in Heze city,Shandong province;in the same method,one town was randomly selected from 17 townships within Juancheng county,and 10 administrative villages were randomly selected from 40 administrative villages within Juancheng county;in October 2017 to May 2018,The survey content includes the elderly general demographic characteristics(gender,age,cultural degree,marital status,income,family status,living environment and so on),physiological,mental health questionnaire mental health questionnaire(anxiety,depression,cognitive),Fried’s Frailty Phenotype,and Functional independence measure(FIM),Instrumental Activities of Daily Living(IADL).All data were analyzed using SPSS17.0 statistical software.Results 1 Rural elderly frailty current situation: among 1,381 elderly people no frailty(0 point)795 cases(57.6%),the early stage of the frailty(1~2 points)in 298 cases(21.5%),frailty(≥3 points)in 288 cases(20.9%),the rural elderly incidence of frailty indicators from more to less,in turn,Slowness,Neakness,Low physical activity levels,Exhaustion,Weight loss;the Single factor analysis of rural elderly frailty showed: gender,age,marital status,educational level,living ways,balance of payments situation and situaion of chronic diseases,medication,physical pain,sleep quality,sight,hearing,chewing ability,urinary incontinence,constipation,self-reported health status,anxiety,depression,cognitive,housing comfort,life satisfaction debilitating condition in the elderly in the rural areas of comparative differences between groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).2 Multivariate Logistic regression analysis elderly of the rural areas showed that gender,age,education level,chronic disease,physical pain,medication,constipation and depression were the influencing factors of frailty.3 Analysis on the relationship between frailty and daily living ability of the elderly in rural areas: there was a positive correlation between frailty and FIM,and the correlation coefficient was 0.642,the degree of frailty was positively correlated with IADL with a correlation coefficient of0.304.Conclusions 1 The incidence of frailty of rural elderly in a county of Heze city was20.9%,the rural elderly incidence of frailty indicators from more to less,in turn,Slowness,Neakness,Low physical activity levels,Exhaustion,Weight loss.2 The factors affecting the frailty of the elderly in rural areas are: gender,age,education level,chronic disease,physical pain,medication,constipation and depression.3 FIM and IADL were positively correlated with the degree of frailty.Figure0;Table13;Reference121...
