The pollution of drinking water was becoming serious, especially the emergency drinking wateraccidents that seriously harm to peoples’ water safety in recently years. Establishing aneffective early warning mechanism to monitor the biological toxins in drinking water was thegreat challenge in the world. The objective of this thesis was to develop a novel method to rapid detect patulin, a potentialemergency chemical toxins in drinking water, by luminol chemiluminescence combined withflow injection analysis(FIA-CL). The main contents include:(1) The relationship betweenproperty of patulin in drinking water and water pollution;(2) Determination of patulin by flowinjection analysis with luminol-potassium ferricyanide chemiluminescence in drinking water;(3)Extraction of patulin from the molded apple and determination of chlorine tolerance of patulin;(4)Methods of reduction of patulin and its degradation mechanism. The main results were listed asfollows:1. There was no significant change in pH value, electric conductivity, optical rotation andrefraction under the presence of0.2mg/L patulin; when the concentration up to0.5mg/L, pHvalue and electric conductivity changed obviously. Therefore, there properties cannot be used forindicating the existence of patulin in drinking water.2. Based on enhanced effect of patulin on luminol-potassium ferricyanide reaction, a novelmethod for rapid determination of patulin combine with flow injection technology was established. The liner range was5×10-3~1mg/L with the detection limit4.6×10-4mg/L.3. Extraction and detection by HPLC and FIA-CL of patulin from molded apple in differentincubating days showed that the high concentration of patulin existed when the incubation timewas15days. Through of sodium hypochlorite treatment, the patulin had a certain tolerance ofchlorine.4. Ozone, ultrasound, microwave, lemon juice and ultraviolet light were used fordegradation of patulin and they all showed a certain role in reduction. The most effective methodwas granular activated carbon treatment that can be use for the emergency patulin pollution indrinking water. Adding2g/L granular activated carbon in drinking water for treatment time of10min, the reduction of patulin was77%. Through the mass spectrographic analysis, a possible mechanism for degradation of patulin was established.
