Objective:. To compare the efficacy and safety of radical and conservative surgical interventions for liver hydatid disease.Methods:The reach about compare the efficacy and safety of radical and conservative surgical treatment for liver hydatid disease were obtained from databases including CNKI,Wangfang,pubmed,EMBACE, Cochrane Library between January2000to October2013. Meta analysis was performed with RevMan5.1.Results:The comparation on operation time of radical group and conservative group WMD=24.59, CI95%(15.09,34.09),P<0.05;The comparation on intraoperative blood loss of radical group and conservative group WMD=63.98, CI95%(60.83,67.14),P<0.05;The comparation on the length of postoperative hospital stay of radical group and conservative group WMD=-3.94, CI95%(-7.57,0.32), P<0.05;The comparation on drainage duration time of radical group and conservative group WMD=-3.49, CI95%(-6.43,-0.55),P<0.05;The comparation on the incidence of bile leakage of radical group and conservative group OR=0.19, CI95%(0.08,0.46), P<0.05;The comparation on the incidence of residual cavity infection of radical group and conservative group OR=0.08, C195%(0.05,0.15), P<0.05;The comparation on the incidence of subphrenic abscess of radical group and conservative group OR=0.58, CI95%(0.16,2.05),P>0.05; The comparation on the incidence of thoracic complications of radical group and conservative group OR=0.55, CI95%(0.20,1.53),P>0.05;The comparation on the incidence of local recurrence of radical group and conservative group OR=0.09, CI95%(0.05,0.16), P<0.05.Conclusion:Although conservative surgical procedures are considered simpler and safer to perform. We believe radical surgical procedures present a lower rate of complications,and thus should be the surgical treatment of choice for hepatic hydatid disease.
