Objective:It aims to analyse characteristics of TCM syndromes and discuss on medication about different subtypes of functional dyspepsia by collecting information on cases of functional dyspepsia patients.Method:120cases of FD were divided into postprandial distress syndromes (PDS) and epigastic pain syndroms (EPS) according to diagnostic criteria.According to TCM diagnostic criteria, these cases were divided into five groups:Spleen deficiency and qi stagnation, deficient cold of spleen and stomach, damp heat in the spleen and the stomach,liver-stomach disharmony,cold-heat complex. According to pathogeny, they were divided into five groups:eating and drinking without temperance, sluggish emotion, climate change, overstrain, with no obvious incentive. And then,do data statistics. These cases were divided into two groups:DPS and EPS,and the drugs were counted. Statistical analysis was performed by SPSS.Count datas were descripted by number and percentage. There are significant differences when the result of chi square test is P<0.05.Result:There was no significant difference of numbers between EPS and DPS cases. Most of the cases are syndrome of spleen-deficiency and qi stagnation, the second-largest number of cases are syndrome of incoordination between liver and stomach. Syndrome of deficient cold of spleen and stomach,cold-heat complicated syndrome, and syndrome of dampness-heat of spleen and stomach were in a minority. There were significant differences about TCM syndrome of different subtypes of FD.The most number of PDS was syndrome of spleen-deficiency and qi stagnation (P<0.05).The most number of EPS was syndrome of incoordination between liver and stomach (P<0.05).Between different subtypes of FD,there was no significant difference about syndrome of deficient cold of spleen and stomach,cold-heat complicated syndrome, and syndrome of dampness-heat of spleen and stomach. The number of sluggish emotion was the largest one,the number of eating and drinking without temperance was second-largest.The number of EPS caused by eating and drinking without temperance was larger than the number of DPS.There was no significant difference between the number of DPS and EPS caused by sluggish emotion, climate change, and overstrain.Qi regulating drugs and tonifying spleen drugs were the most applied drugs. Conclusion:TCM syndromes of subtypes of FD are significantly different. The most number of PDS was syndrome of spleen-deficiency and qi stagnation. The most number of EPS was syndrome of incoordination between liver and stomach. The principle of TCM treatment of FD is based on syndrome differetiation. The medication should notice clinical addition and subtraction, pay attention to harmonizing liver and spleen, regulating qi,harmonizing the stomach, and the flexible use of regulating drugs.
