Objective:To study the correlation between hope levels, coping styles and quality of life of hospital conformal intensity modulated radiotherapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients. Methods:The clinical data of120cases of hospitalized nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients with IMRT who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria from October2013to April2014were statistically analyzed. Results:The patients with yield response had higher original scores compared with patients with confronted and avoidance response(P<0.05); Patients’ overall level of hope and three dimensions of hope level T, P, I had a positive correlation with the overall quality of life(P<0.05); Coping style of confrontation had a positive correlation with overall quality of life of patients(P<0.05), and also had a positive correlation with role function and social function in5functional areas(P<0.05); Coping style of avoidance and emotional function in five functional areas were positively correlated (P<0.05); Coping style of yield and the overall quality of life of patients were negatively correlated (P<0.05), and coping style of yield also had a negative correlation with five functional areas, three projects in the field of symptoms and insomnia, inappetence in six individual entries (P<0.05); the overall quality of life and the overall hope level of patients were positively correlated (P<0.05), however the overall quality of life had negative correlation with tumor metastasis, clinical and pathological staging and coping style of yield (P<0.05). Conclusion:The overall quality of life in hospitalized nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients with IMRT was (59.44±17.98), the patient’s quality of life and hope level constituted a positive correlation, the overall level of hope was higher; the overall quality of life in patients had a positive correlation with coping style of confrontation and avoidance, and had a a negative correlation with coping style of yield. The main factors which affected the overall quality of life in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma were clinical-pathological staging, metastasis status, and coping style of yield.
