Objective:To explore the distribution characteristics of NFKB1gene promoter region-94ins/del ATTG polymorphism and the association with blood lipid level in natural Han, Uygur and Kazak populations in Xinjiang. Methods:A total of604Han,585Uygur and566Kazak people were examined NFKB1gene promoter region-94ins/del ATTG polymorphism with real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction technique.Results:(1) The allele frequencies of NFKB1gene promoter region-94ins/del ATTG were (36.4%.37.4%.39.8%) in ins/ins,(46.2%.45.8%.49.5%)in ins/del,(17.4%.16.8%.10.8%) in del/del,(59.5%.60.3%.64.5%) in ins and (40.5%.39.7%.35.5%) in del in Han, Uygur and Kazak populations. There was significant difference in frequencies of del/del genotype and del allele between Kazak with the other two ethnic people but not in the Han and the Uighur people.(2) After adjusting for age, gender, smoking, body mass index, triglyceride and high-density lipoprotein, logistic regression analyses revealed that individuals carrying del allele(ins/del and del/del genotype) faced a higher prevalence of high LDL-C disease (OR:1.544,95%CI:1.051-2.268) than individuals carrying ins/ins genotype in Han individuals. Conclusion:The frequencies of NFKB1gene promoter region-94ins/del ATTG polymorphism are different between Han, Uygur and Kazak minority in Xinjiang,The polymorphism may be associated with the levels of low-density lipoprotein in the Han people, del allele may be a risk factor in Han people with the high LDL-C disease. |
