Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Cervical Vertigo With Acupuncture And Motion Moxibustion

[Objective]Evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment of acupuncture and motion moxibustion on patients of cervical vertigo objectively and study the mechanism of motion moxibustion on patients of cervical vertigo preliminary.It will provide a basis for the clinical application of motion moxibustion.[Methods]55cases of cervical vertigo were treated by acupuncture and motion moxibustion.Point selected: jiaji(EX-B2),Fengchi(GB20),Tianzhu(BL10),Baihui(GV20).The needles were retained for30minutes and the treatment was given once a day. Six times made up one course.All the participants were not treated a day between different course.The whole clinical experiment contained3courses and all the participants were followed on3months after the end of treatment.The "Cervical Vertigo Symptoms and Function Evaluation Scale"(ESCV) were used in the measurement of therapeutic results before treating,after the first and third treating course and3months after the end of the treatment.All kinds of clinical statistics needed were collected before and after experiments,including the total effective rate,the scores of evaluation of cervical vertigo symptoms and functions,the peak systolic velocity(Vp),diastolic velocity(Vd),mean velocity(Vm),pulsatility index(PI) in TCD.To collect the published acupuncture treatment of cervical vertigo studies of both Chinese and English before December2013at home and abroad.According to the method of Meta,The difference of the curative effect was compared between treatment of acupuncture and motion moxibustion and acupuncture treatment.[Results](1)After the treatment,the total effective rate of the treatment group was90.91%,30cases were cured,11cases were validated,9cases were effective and5cases were invalid.(3)The "Cervical Vertigo Symptoms and Function Evaluation Scale"(ESCV) were used in the measurement of therapeutic results before treating,after the first and the third treating course and after the end of the treatment.The symptoms and function scores,including the total score,vertigo score,neck and shoulder pain score,headache score,daily and work capacity score and mental and social adaption score after the treating course have significant difference (P<0.01).All the symptoms and function scores after the treating course,compared with before treatment and the first treating course,have statistical difference(P<0.01);All the symptoms and function scores after the treating course3months,compared with before treatment,have statistical difference(P<0.01),The total score,compared with the first treating course,has statistical difference(P<0.05),other scores have no statistical difference(P>0.05).(3)The data of peak systolic velocity(Vp),diastolic velocity(Vd),mean velocity(Vm), pulsatility index(PI) of vertebral arteryand basilar artery(BA) in TCD were observed. There was significant difference after treatment and those before treatment on Vp,Vm and Vd of BA and VA(P<0.05).There was significant difference after treatment and those before treatment on PI of RVA(P<0.01).There were no significant difference after treatment and those before treatment on PI of LVA and BA(P>0.05).(4)According to the result of method of Meta,the total effective rate of the acupuncture treatment was95.6%.It was a little higher than that of treatment of acupuncture and motion moxibustion.[Conclusion and significance]The blood velocity was improved after the treatment of acupuncture and motion moxibustion,thus brain’blood supply was improved.The symptoms of dizziness,neck and shoulder pain and headache of patients with cervical vertigo can be alleviated after the treatment of acupuncture and motion moxibustion.The daily life and work capacity,the mental and social adaption ability and quality of life can be improved after the treatment.This has superimposed the clinical curative effects on patients with cervical vertigo treated by acupuncture and motion moxibustion with the increase of treatment times.The treatment of acupuncture and motion is a kind of therapy to treat cervical vertigo, which is easy to be accepted by patients and simple to be applied in effects,safe and worthy to be popularized.
