Objective:To observe the effect of Modified HuangQi ZhiSou Dection (MHQZSD) in the patients with cough, phlegm, physical signs of lung and the index such as complexion,finding the mechanism of HQZSD in improving the state of lung and spleen deficiency syndrome with chronic cough.Methods:60cases of children with chronic cough of lung and spleen deficiency syndrome were selected and were randomly divided into two groups. For the treatment group,30were given of MHQZSD, while the control group30cases were given of cefaclor and bromhexine in dry syrups. The symptoms and signs were quantified; observe the index changes before and after treatment to evaluate the efficacy, the statistical analyses of the data were carried on.Results:The cured, excellent, improved, and failed cases in the treatment group were11(36.7%),6(20.0%),10(33.3%), and3(10.0%) respectively; the control group were4(13.3%),5(16.7%),16(53.3%) and5(16.7%) respectively; the difference of cured and excellent cases in two group was statistically significant(P<0.05), the treatment group is better than control group. For the primary symptoms improvement such as physical signs of lung, the difference was statistical significant (P<0.05), the treatment group is better than the control group, while for the improvement of cough and phlegm, the comparison result was not statistical significant (P>0.05); for the secondary symptoms improvement such as pale complexion and Loose stool, the difference was statistical significant (P<0.05), the treatment group is better than the control group, while for the improvement of easily susceptible, hyperhidrosis, anorexia and laziness to speak, the comparison result was not statistical significant (P>0.05).Conclusion:The comprehensive clinical efficacy of pediatric chronic cough of lung spleen deficiency syndrome by MHQZSD is better than treated by cefaclor and bromhexine in dry syrups.
