Objective:To evaluation and compare the predictive accuracy of the1997、2001、2007and2013versions of Partin tables for the final postoperative pathologic features of Chinese prostate cancer patients. Methods:We analyzed the data from the patients who underwent radical prostatectomy and have been pathologically confirmed as prostate cancer between May2008and May2014in the second Xianya Hospital,Central South University. According to the prediction inclusion criteria of each version, there were83,77,68,59patients in each group. We used each Partin table to predict pathological features including organ-confinement(OC),extra-prostatic extension(EPE),seminal vesicle invasion(SVI), and lymph node involvement(LNI) in each patient, and then Receiver Operating characteristics(ROC) curves and the area under the receiver operating characteristics curves (AUC) were used to evaluate and compare the predictive values of each table. Results:Using the1997,2001,2007,and2013Partin tables for predicting the final pathological stages of Chinese prostate cancer patients, the AUC of OC was0.701,0.649,0.604,0.636;the AUC of ECE was0.698,0.656,0.535,0.589,the AUC of SVI was0.684,0.666,0.609,0.609;the AUC of LNI was0.678,0.612,0.655,0.607.Conclusions:1. Each version of Partin tables showed a poor accuracies of predicting the final pathologic stages of Chinese prostate cancer patients, which were not enough for clinical application. Thus, there was no necessary to compare their pros and cons;2. These poor accuracies may be caused by the differences of diagnosis and treatment between Chinese prostate cancer patients and the basic sample population of Partin tables;3.More further multi-center and large-sample researches were needed to find a more suitable models for Chinese prostate cancer patients.
