ObjectiveThrough animal experiments, this paper discusses huanglian jiedu decoction (HJD) and its separated recipes blood fat and blood sugar on the high fat and sugar model mice. Through clinical observation discusses the effect of huanglian jiedu decoction for the treatment of dyslipidemia in patients with dyslipidemia, provide reference and basis for prevention and treatment of dyslipidemia of traditional Chinese medicine.MethodsAnimal experimentsSPF male KM mice were randomly divided into HJD group, Rhizoma coptidis(Huanglian) group, group of Rhizoma Coptidis and Cortex Phellodendri(huangbai), group of Rhizoma Coptidis, Cortex Phellodendri and Radix Scutellariae(huangqin), group of Radix Scutellariae and Fructus Gardeniae(zhizi), group of Rhizoma Coptidis, Cortex Phellodendri and Fructus Gardeniae, simvastatin group, model group and normal control group. Mice body weight was mearsured every week,and after4weeks the serum total cholesterol(TC) and triglycerides(TG) levels and blood glucose level were detected.Clinical observationChoose80patients with dyslipidemia in the standard in the cardiovascular outpatient of the first affiliated hospital of guangzhou university of TCM from October2013to March2014, using the random number table method to divide into HJD group (50cases) and simvastatin group (30cases), observation of blood lipid, serum potassium, cereal third transaminase, metabolic changes of creatine kinase for weeks later.Results Animal experimentsCompared with the normal control group, TC, TG and blood glucose levels were increased obviously in the model group (P<0.01). After treatment, TC and TG were decreased in all Chinese herbal medicine groups and simvastatin group when compared with the model group. Huanglian-Huangbai-Zhizi group had lower TC and TG levels than Huanglian-Huangbai-Huangqin group, Huanglian-Huangbai group and Huangqin-Zhizi group (P<0.05), and had lower TC than Huanglian-Huangbai-Huangqin group, Huanglian-Huangbai group and Huangqin-Zhizi group(P<0.05). Compared with the model group, the blood glucose was decreased in simvastatin group, Huanglian-Huangbai-Huangqin group and Huanglian-Huangbai group(P<0.05). The difference of of body weight was insignificant among various group before treatment(P>0.05), and the body weight in Huanglian group, Huanglian-Huangbai group and simvastatin group was lower than that in model group after treatment(P<0.05). there was no statistically significant difference in the rest of the group (P>0.05). Clinical observationBlood lipid:After treatment, HJD group and simvastatin group both significantly lower total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01); After treatment of HJD group significantly lower total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol and high-density lipoprotein, compared with simvastatin group, there was no statistically significant difference (P>0.05); After treatment HJD group increased high-density lipoprotein, cpmpared with the treatment before,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Metabolism:Uric acid is reduced after treatment of HJD group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), compared with simvastatin group, there was no statistically significant difference (P>0.05);HJD group lower blood glucose after treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P>0.05), compared with simvastatin group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Security:after treatment, the serum potassium and cereal third transaminase of two groups on the differences, no statistical significance (P>0.05).Conclusion HJD and its separated recipes can lower TC and TG levels in hyperlipemia and hyperglycemia model mice, Huanglian-Huangbai-Zhizi recipe has the strongest effect on lowing blood lipid in all of the separated recipes, and Huanglian-Huangbai-Huangqin recipe and Huanglian-Huangbai recipe have an effect on lowing blood glucose.HJD could reduce total cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol and increased high-density lipoprotein in the patients with dyslipidemia, lipid regulation effect as simvastatin; HJD can significantly reduce uric acid and blood sugar in the patients with dyslipidemia; HJD is safe and patients in the study period can prescribed medication, no obvious function of liver and kidney damage during the medication.
