ObjectiveTo observe the effect of the treatment by altering Polyporus Decoction of indwelling catheter related overactive bladder of benign prostate hypertrophy patients after surgery. To explore the curative effect of TCM to improve the quality of life in benign prostate hypertrophy patients after surgery with the indwelling catheter related overactive bladder.MethodsAccording to the study design, selecting cases met the inclusion criteria for treatment and observation. All patients were from the surgery1of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM, the time limit from June2013to February2014, a total of31cases were selected.31cases were divided to3groups by the random number table. The treatment group was11cases, the control group was9cases, the blank group was11cases. Age group, IPSS score, QOL score and the weight of the prostate were checked by the statistical treatment, there was no significant difference(P>0.05). After operation in the three groups were given drug treatment.①The patients in treatment group were cured by altering Polyporus Decoction, which was cured after the recovery of gastrointestinal function. The treatment was twice a day by one potion a day, which was ended after the catheter removal.②The patients in control group were cured by Tolterodine Tartrate Sustained Release Tablets(4mg/piece), which was cured after the recovery of gastrointestinal function. The treatment was once a day by one piece, which was ended after the catheter removal.③The patients in blank group were not targeted cured. After catheter removal, the patients were evaluated by the OABSS score of the symptoms of overactive bladder. ResultsAll the patients were evaluated by the OABSS score after catheter removal. The patients in treatment group were scored4.91±4.13by the OABSS score, the patients in control group were scored4.89±2.57, the patients in blank group were scored9.73+3.52. The scores were checked by the statistical treatment, there was significant difference(P=0.0043). The statistical treatment between the treatment group and the control group was no significant difference (P>0.05). The statistical treatment between the treatment group and the blank group was significant difference(P<0.01). The statistical treatment between the control group and the blank group was significant difference (P<0.05). There were2cases in the control group appearing retention of urine after the catheter removal, but none in the treatment group and the blank group. There was no significant difference(P=0.1895) between the treatment group and the control group by the statistical treatment.ConclusionThe altering Polyporus Decoction could improve the symptoms of the indwelling catheter related overactive bladder of benign prostate hypertrophy patients after surgery. There was no significant differences between Polyporus Decoction and Tolterodine in the efficacy and the occurrence rate of adverse reaction of acute retention of urine after removing the catheter.
