ObjectiveThe study object in this dissertation is to explore a better therapeutic regimen for curative effect improvement on Bell’s palsy by comparing the curative effect of intervention group (using normal acupuncture treatment plus Yu’s meridian measuring treatment) and control group(using the normal acupuncture treatment), in which we could evaluate the intervention to the curative effect on Bell’s palsy using Yu’s meridian measuring treatment.MethodsIn this research,60patients suffered from Bell’s palsy were divided into the intervention group and the control group with the same-size ratio randomly. Patients in the intervention group were treated with normal acupuncture treatment plus Yu’s meridian measuring treatment, while the patients in the control group were treated with only normal acupuncture treatment. In the intervention group, according to the heat sensitivity measured before the1st,6th and11th treatment, the patients were treated on the Back-Shu Points and Yuan-Primary Points. All patients received the treatment once in one day and five days in a week,15times altogether. Besides, based on the House-Brackmann facial nerve grading system and the quantified grading chart of signs and symptoms that is adopted by the State Administration of TCM as the evaluation standard of Bell’s palsy, all the patients received an observation and evaluation before1st and after15th treatment.Results1. By analyzed statistically, after the treatment the obvious effective rate is83.3%in the treatment intervention group while56.7%in the control group, which makes a significant difference statistically (P<0.05) between them. And the cure rate is50%in the intervention group while23.3%in the control group. Similarly, there is a significant difference statistically (P <0.05) on cure rate between the groups.2. According to the comparison of situation of House-Brackmann facial nerve grading system, there is a significant difference statistically (P<0.05) after the treatment comparing the situation of House-Brackmann facial nerve grading system between the2groups. It shows that the intervention group has superiority over the control group on the situation of House-Brackmann facial nerve gradation.3. According to the comparison of the average grade of the quantified grading chart of signs and symptom, there is a significant difference statistically (P<0.05) after15times of treatment when comparing the average grade of the quantified grading chart of signs and symptom between the groups. It proves that the intervention group has superiority over the control group on the average grade of the quantified grading chart of signs and symptom.ConclusionThere’s obvious curative effect using Yu’s meridian measuring treatment plus normal acupuncture treatment in treating Bell’s palsy, which has superiority over the normal acupuncture treatment alone.
