Accordingto clinical observation, In the eastern plain area that east of jingguang railway,kaifeng to xinyang area in henan province, there are more patients with inguinalhernia. Such as in a small hospital in a county, there are more than ten thousandpatients with inguinal hernia treated each year. At the same time the larger publichospitals and a few small private hospitals have to treat more inguinal hernia patientsevery year, some areas have also established specialized subject hospital hernia. Withso many patients with inguinal hernia, what is the incidence, prevalence, risk factors, treatment condition, at present we lack relevant necessary date in our province anddomestic.In order to obtain a comprehensive and effective groin epidemic information,and provide the scientific basis of indeed for the prevention and treatment of inguinalhernia in henan province and even the whole country, We first carried out the surveyabout groin hernia for zhuanlou village, taikang county in henan.Object and methodsThis study adopts the method of census, we carried out interview-based surveyfor60683cases of population of zhuanlou village, taikang county in eastern plain ofhenan province. Questionnaire content includes name, gender, age, medical history,family history, treatment status, smoking history, increased abdominal pressurefactors and complications, etc; we did statistical processing by computer after thequestionnaire summary, and analyzed the prevalence of inguinal hernia, high onsetage, disease related factors and treatment status, gender differences, etc.The resultsThis study investigated60683cases, the average age of34.5521.82years old,includes398patients with inguinal hernia, the prevalence is0.7%, there are20newcases in2013, the incidence was0.03%. In31980cases of male, there are348patients with inguinal hernia,The prevalence is1.1%. In28703cases of female, thereare50patients with inguinal hernia, The prevalence is0.2%. The incidence ofchildren under the age of10is1.4%, the incidence of youth and adolescents at theage of10-60is0.4%, the incidence of old people over65.3%. The risk factorsassociated inguinal hernia include: age, gender, family history, history of defecatedifficulty, history of chronic bronchitis.ConclusionThe overall prevalence of inguinal hernia is0.7%in zhuanlou village,taikang county of henan province,the patients mainly are children and elderly people,Maleprevalence rate is significantly higher than female prevalence rate. The incidencehave obvious correlation with family history, smoking history, chronic cough, dysuria,habitual constipation.
