Death Related Factors Analysis Of59Cases Of MODS

ObjectiveMultiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome (MODS),which has extremely high fatality rate and enormous expense, still has no definite prevention and cure methods. How to reduce mortality of MODS has become the biggest Challenge in critical care medicine. So the purpose of this study is to explore the death risk factors of MODS, and provide reliable scientific basis for the prevention and treatment of MODS.Methods59patients were analysised who were cured in ICU of the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September2009to March2014. The data contained the general information, age, sex, history of chronic patient, blood routine test, blood biochemistry, the number of failed organs, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) types, the acute physiology chronic health evaluation II score (APACHE II score) and the score of Glasgow which were recorded into the ward after24h.59cases of hospital patients were divided into hospital MODS survival group (n=32) and died group (n=27), undergo single factor analysis of the data between the two groups, try to find out which one make effects on the risk of mortality in MODS hospital patients. Attributing associated risk factors(P<0.05) to many factors Logistic regression analysis, to discusse the majorrelated factors of mortality of MODS hospital patients.ResultsThe mortality of MODS is45.76%in this study, Univariate analysis showed that there were significant differences in oxygenationindex,, Lactic acid, procalcitonin, APACHE II score, the score of Glasgow, the number of failed organs, JueTuo card between the survival group and the death group (P<0.05). The significant factors were found to be the number of failed organs (OR=3.876, 95%CI:[2.358,8.987]), APACHE II score (OR=2.129,95%CI:[1.498,7.022]) and JueTuo card (OR=1.492,95%CI:[0.982,6.873]) using multivariate logistic regression analysis. Sothe number of failed organs, APACHEH II score and JueTuo card were the major risk factor for influence on the mortality of MODS.ConclusionAccording to the factors concerned, the main correlation factors of the mortality of MODS were the number of failed organs, the acute physiology chronic health evaluation II and JueTuo card. Also oxygenation index,Lactic acid, procalcitonin the score of Glasgow influenced the mortality of MODS to some extent.
