Experimental Study In The Correlationship Between Lunar Phase And Acupoints’ Resistance Of Healthy People

ObjectiveTo observe the correlationship between Lunar Phase and acupoints’ resistance of healthy people.Methods70subjects who met the inclusion criteria of health were treated as one group. The24Yuan acupoints’resistance of all subjects were measured by Digital Meridian System(DMS) at4specific lunar phases in a moon cycle period which include new moon, first quarter, full moon, last quarter lunar phases. After finishing all tests, repeated measures analysis of variance was used to analyzed the data of meridian values of12meridians as well as average meridian values of12meridians in order to observe if their varying pattern matches the rule recorded in Neijing that lunar phases influence qi and blood of the body.ResultMeridian values of12meridians were significantly changed during a moon cycle period (P<0.05). Most of them were at a higher level at the first quarter and full moon phases and a lower level at last quarter and new moon phases. However, not all meridian values were significantly different between two adjacent phases (P>0.05). It illustrates that qi and blood of meridian does not change at a constant speed. And the varying pattern of the average meridian values of12meridians matches the rule recorded in Neijing that lunar phases influence qi and blood of the body.ConclusionMeridian values of12meridians of healthy people change regularly and periodically in a moon cycle period. The trend of increase and decrease of the meridian value changes accordantly to the the rule lunar phases influence qi and blood of the body. Thus, the recordation about the relationship between lunar phases and qi and blood in Neijing was verified as true. The result of the study provides a theoretical basis for clinically practicing the thought of "heaven corresponding" and lunar rhythm to diagnose and treat diseases.
