The Clinic Research On Relationship Between Hyperplasia Of Mammary Gland And The Lunar Phase

ObjectiveTo explore the relationship between the changes of lunar phase and HMG which included symptoms, signs and the differentiation of TCM syndromes, with a view to the implementation of the regulation of onset of Hyperplasia Of Mammary(HMG) and clinical response to the HMG differentiation, timing medication, as well as the prediction of disease prognosis, provided an important theoretical basis for practical value.MethodObserved 308 paitents in line with the diagnostic criteria of HMG in the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine from 2010 March to 2011 March. Calculated the incidence of symptoms and signs of HMG and Distribution of the differentiation of TCM syndromes in different lunar phase. Based on the results, apply statistical analysis software spss17.0 to analyze the relationship between HMG with The changes of lunar phase by chi-square test and correlation analysis.Result1. Frequency of symptoms and signs of HMG including breast ache, plump had negative correlation with the extent and full moon. The correlation coefficient r=0.48, r=-0.65, all of the p<0.05. There was a significant statistical significance, showing that in first half month as the lunar phase change, patients with these symptoms and signs of HMG would become less, while in last half month they become more. There was certain relationship between regulation of onset of HMG and the changes of lunar phase.2. One Type of the differentiation of TCM, Liver-qi Stagnation and Phlegm Stagnation, whose number of patients had no Linear Correlation with the extent and full moon (P>0.05).At the same time, number of patients of ChongRen imbalance type which had negative correlation with the extent and full moon. The correlation coefficient r=-0.74, P=0.00<0.05. It showed that in first half month as the lunar phase change, the number of patients of ChongRen imbalance type would grow less, while in last half month it would grow more.ConclusionThere was certain relationship between regulation of onset of HMG and the changes of lunar phase. The number of patients of Liver-qi Stagnation and Phlegm Stagnation type of TCM had no Linear Correlation with the changes of lunar phase. The number of patients of ChongRen imbalance type had negative Linear correlation with the changes of lunar phase.
