ObjectiveFrom the viewpoint of tourist, this study uses two standard which growth of knowledge and emotional experience to evaluate and empirical research the education function of Guangdong Chinese Medicine Museum. Through analysing different tourists’ growth of knowledge and emotional experience who visit the museum before and after to evaluate the museum interpretation system, then evaluate the utilization of educational function of Guangdong Chinese Medicine Museum. Accordingly put forward a sound education function corresponding suggestions and provide a theoretical basis for further study about the educational function of university museum.MethodsLiterature study. To collect the relative literature from some database at home and abroad and to make a summary and analyse.Questionnaire survey method. This research mainly uses a structured questionnaire to obtain data. Using the field release form, according to the convenience sampling and random sampling in the non probability sampling method, we investigate different tourists who have the ability and willingness when they visit the museum and recover of the questionnaire in time.Depth interviews. During the present investigation, we have depth interviews with staff in the museum, university teachers and college studentsin order to get knowledge and information more comprehensive. It is providing the basis for research conclusions and the questionnaire design, which ensure the research is scientific, practical and operable.Statistical analysis methods. The database was established by epidata and analyzed by SPSS17.O, descriptive analyses, Chi-square test and other methods were performed in the research to obtain the reliable results, and displayed in chart and form, then drawn a conclusion according to the data.ResultsThe results showed:(1) Tourists in the view of knowledge change obviously before and after. The overall average score increased by0.4725points, The difference was statistically significant; The average value of emotional experience was3.93points, more than3.5points, show that the tourists had high degree of identity of emotional experience relatively for Guangdong Chinese Medicine Museum.(2) There was statistical significance of tourists’ knowledge growth and the emotion experience in different cultural level, occupation, visit times, visit purpose and visit fellow.(3) Tourists’ experience the growth of knowledge and emotional differences had statistical significance with the museum guide explained or not. The knowledge scores and emotional identity of the tourists who had the museum guide explained was much higher than that of no museum guide groups of tourists.ConclusionGuangdong Chinese Medicine Museum overall play to the education function is positive, it can be perfect from the following two aspects except maintaining the existing advantages.(1) Improve the museum announcer team construction and lift guide interpretation level.(2) Try to use the new media, strengthen conduct propaganda and to realize social education function.(3) Combine "Bringing in "and" going out ", strengthen the cooperation and commucination with social groups.(4) Enrich the education connotation of the collection, play a part in patriotism education of museum.
