Objective: To investigate the incidence and the relevant factors ofpost-stroke sleep disturbances, and provide theoretical basis for thediagnosis and prevention. Methods: The239cases of stroke patients in the Department ofNeurology of Affiliated Union Hospital of Fujian Medical University fromMay2013to August2013were analyzed. Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI) was used to evaluate the insomniacs, sleep disorder was definedas PSQI scores what were more than7.Over-slept diagnoses were based onpatients’principle actions(including households’ descriptions), medicalhistory, and daily sleeping hours>12,bedtime<5min. All patients weredivided into sleep disorder group and non-sleep disorder group.Comparatively analyzed the difference of gender, age, general history ofthe two groups of patients(history of hypertension, history of diabetes, history of coronary heart disease, history of arrhythmia),apoplectic part, apoplectic type, apoplectic stage, damage degree of nervous functions andcomplication.Results:92patients of239cases suffered from sleep disorder, theincidence rate were38.5%.19cases with hypersomnia (20.7%),73cases withinsomnia(79.3%).8cases with hypersomnia (22.9%)in the hemorrhagicstroke group, and11cases (5.4%) with hypersomnia in the ischemic strokegroup, the two groups had statistic differences (P<0.05).Comparing withthe non-sleep disorder group, the sleep disorder group had largerproportion of elderly patients, and more patients with acute stroke, brain stem stroke, basal ganglia stroke, history of arrhythmia, historyof coronary heart disease, severe nerve function damage, accompanyingpulmonary infection, accompanying urinary tract infection,it showed statistic differences(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression showedthat sleep disorder after stroke was closely related with acute stroke, brain stem stroke, basal ganglia stroke, history of arrhythmia, severenerve function damage and accompanying pulmonary infection. Conclusion: Sleep disorder after stroke was rather common, it wasrelated with acute stroke, brain stem stroke, basal ganglia stroke, historyof arrhythmia, severe nerve function damage, accompanying pulmonaryinfection,it should cause the attention of the medical staff.
