As one of the top ten famous flowers in China, Nelumbo nucifera is Nymphaeaceae perennial aquatic plant. It’s difficult to keep the lotus fresh-cut flower fresh. The lack of preservation technology greatly restricted the industrialization production and application of lotus cut flower. Up to now, related report is rare and preservation mechanism is rarely reported. The experiment carried out on some preservation methods and preservation mechanism, aims to provide some theoretical basics for the preservation technology of locus fresh-cut flower. The main research contents and results are as follows:1.10 cultivars of lotus as experimental materials, respectively to observe the natural condition and the vase in the process of flowering and the ageing process. Through the observation, vase flowering and the ageing process is almost the same with that in the natural condition, roughly divided into three stage:initial flowering、in full bloom and fade period. Aging types during the vase process:falling petals, bending of the stem, broken flower diameter, flower frozen, flower buds frozen, wilting, brown etc. After screening, varieties fit for cut flower:’fozuolian’,’xinghuafen’,’juwuba’.2.’fozuolian’ as experimental materials, Sucrose,8-HQC, GA3, CaCl2 as four factors, carrying out four level three factors orthogonal experiment. The results show that, Sucrose is the main factor, play a decisive role. The influence of 8-HQC, GA3, CaCl2 is not significant. To extend the vase life of lotus cut flower, the optimum recipe is 1%S+200mg/L8-HQC+75 mg/L GA3+250 mg/LCaCl2. To increase the maximum diameter, the optimum recipe is 1.5%S+200mg/L8-HQC+75 mg/L GA3+250 mg/LCaCl2.3.’fozuolian’ as experimental materials,0.5mg/L, lmg/L,5mg/L6-BA; 25mg/L, 50mg/L,75mg/L GA3;demonized water as CK, carrying out vase experiment. Choosing CK, 5mg/L6-BA,75mg/LGA3 to determine the physiological indexes. The results show that, 6-BA can reduce the maximum of lotus cut flower and reduce the vase life. It’s not suitable for the lotus preservation. The preservation of GA3 is good. GA3 can significantly increase the maximal diameter of lotus cut flower and improve the vase life of 7h. The best concentration is 75mg/L.75mg/LGA3 can effectively improve the bottle of protein content in lotus petals during the vase process, reduce the rate of protein breakdown, remarkably increase SOD,POD,CAT activity, slow down the increase of membrane permeability, reduce the content of MDA, maintain the stability of membrane structure. In order to increase the vase life of lotus cut flower.
