Anthurium Lind is a rare cut-flower with a great consumption in the market. It has been widely planted in our country and its cultivating skills have been developed very well, but the fresh-keeping problem has not been solved yet. Therefore, this study mainly discusses the mechanism of aging and decaying of the fresh-cut Anthurium and its fresh keeping agent as well.At present, the recipes of Ag+fresh-keeping agents, published abroad, after many experiments and analysis with SAS statistics software, show that they don't have very significant effects and so they can not be used in production. By physiological tests, microscopic observation, ocular evaluating and statistic analysis, the aging and decaying mechanism of fresh-cut Anthurium flowers has been discovered and an efficient environment-protecting fresh-keeping agent HZ-06 has successfully been developed. This has filled in the blank of the fresh-keeping agent of fresh cut Anthnriam in our country. During the trial-developing process, the following conclusions have been obtained :1. There are significant differences in the HS fresh-keeping period among different cultivars of fresh-cut Anthurium. Red spathes as "Tropical " and "Rosa" age and decay most rapidly, but they are the main cultivars in production. Crass-green spathes or spathes with fancy colors presented by "Pistache". "Senator" have a longer life, as long as 30 days and up.But they are not the main cultivars. The experimental results show that fresh-cut Anthurium needs fresh-keeping disposal.2. Disposed fresh-cut Anthurium by ethylene inhibitor STS, we found that the cut-Anthurium is not sensitive to Ag+, that is: ethylene is not the essential factor which induces its aging and decaying directly; by measuring the changes of the soluable sugar, starch; the changes of enzyme activity of SOD; the content of endogenous phytohormones; the changes of electric conductivity; and microscopic examination of its slice etc., we found the causes of its aging and decaying are due to the burnout of such energy substances in cells as soluable sugar, starch and pectic substances; the decrease of stimulating hormone in plant; the rise of the content of free radicals; the destructionof sub-cell structure; the increase of bio-permeable membrane and the tissue disintegration of bract.3. The fresh-keeping agent HZ-06 for fresh-cut Anthurium has been developed. This agent , through experiments, is made up on the basis of the causes of aging and decaying, after large-scale repeating experiments in high (30 ) or low (10 ) temperature, the fresh-keeping effects are stable. Analyzed by SAS software statistic the reache significant compared with the CK and fresh-keeping agent Ag+, under the same condition. Furthermore, to be consistent with ocular evaluating result, it can double the fresh-keeping periods and is of great potential developing value.4. The physiological basis of the special environment-protecting fresh-keeping agent HZ-06 has a better reliability and stability. By conducting physiological tests and microscopic analysis of the cut-Anthurium disposed by the HZ-06 agent, it proves that the cut Anthuriam treated by the HZ-06 agent has a good stress-resistance, low free radical level, low electrical conductivity, high contents of soluble sugar and starch, the remarkable increases of growth promotion phytohormone ZT and GAs, compared with CK and fresh-keeping agent containing Ag+ under the same conditions. By observing with microscope, we find that it richly contains cell inclusions, high energy charges, its cell and other tissus structures are more intact than the controlled samples. The fading of the red pigment is comparary slower. Quiet a few physiological indexes have significant at the stardard of 0.05 or 0.01 between CK and fresh-keeping agent containing Ag+.Therefore, the physiological basis of the fresh-keeping effects of HZ-06 on cut Anthurian has been primarily revealed.
