Lotus(Nelumbo nucifera),one of China’s top ten traditional famous flowers.In recent years,with the rapid development of my country’s cut flower market,the demand for cut lotus flowers has increased.However,it is difficult to keep fresh cut lotus flowers,and research on preservation is relatively lacking.How to keep cut lotus flowers fresh and prolong the viewing period is a question worth exploring.In addition,the lotus petals are colorful and bright,and the colors are rich.The dried flowers formed after color retention can produce various shapes of dried flower works.The most important factor of dried flowers is color retention.At present,there is no research on color retention of lotus cut flowers.Therefore,this study uses different preservatives and chemical color preservation methods to study the application of cut lotus flowers.The content and results are as follows:(1)Four different lotus cultivars,’Wanxia’,’Green Peony Lotus’,’Fen Peony’,and’Jinqiu’,were used as test materials,using preservatives such as sucrose,calcium chloride,alum,and 8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate Each ingredient is set up with 4 preservatives combined with concentration gradients to carry out the preservation test,and the relevant ornamental and physiological indexes of the petals after preservation are measured.The results show that the best combination of the’Sunset’ variety is:25g/L sucrose+150mg/L Alum+150g/L Calcium Chloride(CaCl2)+250mg/L8-HQC;the best combination ofLv Cui Moutan Lotus’ variety is:20g/L sucrose+100mg/L Alum+100g/L calcium chloride(CaCl2)+200mg/L8-HQC;treatment delays the senescence of petals,but the vase is not opened during the period of insertion.The best combination of Fen Peony’ variety is:15g/L sucrose+70mg/L alum+70g/L calcium chloride(CaCl2)+100mg/L8-HQC;’ The best combination ofJinqiu’ variety is:15g/L sucrose+70mg/L alum+70g/L calcium chloride(CaCl2)+100mg/L8-HQC,and the bottle life is the longest.In general,different kinds of lotus flowers require different preservatives for the best effect.Among them,golden autumn>pink peony>green peony lotus>evening glow.From the perspective of flower color,yellow varieties have the longest vase life,followed by pink varieties,red and green varieties.The varieties suitable for cut flowers were selected:"Golden Autumn" and "Pink Peony".(2)Five lotus cultivars with different flower colors were used as experimental materials,namely Huanglian’s Golden Autumn,Green Lotus’ Lv Cui Peony Lotus,Fen Lian’Fen Peony’,Zi Lian’Wan Xia’,Bai Lian’Xue Tao’,The effects of three different concentrations of color retention agents and time gradients on the color retention of lotus petals were studied.The results of soaking in distilled water were compared,and the best color retention method was screened out.The test results showed that the color retention effect of Jinqiu’ treated with agent A 10%citric acid for 0.5h was the best;the color retention effect of Lu Cui Mudanlian’ treated with agent A citric acid 10%for 1.5h was the best;C agent 10%tartaric acid+ 5%sucrose solution for 2.5h has the best color retention effect;"Xuetao" C agent 10%tartaric acid+5%sucrose solution for 2.5h has the best color retention effect;"Wanxia" C agent 10%tartaric acid+5%sucrose solution soaking for 0.5h has the best color retention effect.It can be seen that different color retention agents have different color retention effects on different varieties of lotus petals.The sugar-acid mixed color retention agent is more suitable for red and white lotus cut flowers.Single citric acid is more suitable for yellow and green lotus cut flowers.The color retention effect of the acid+magnesium chloride mixed solution is relatively insignificant.Comprehensive comparison,the color retention effect of the color retention agent is as follows:C agent 10%tartaric acid+5%sucrose>A agent citric acid 10%>B agent 2.5%citric acid+1.25%magnesium chloride>distilled water.(3)Two different types of embossed works of "Lotus Rhyme" and "Lotus Garden" were made after using color retention test to obtain different color retention levels,which fully explained that the different color retention levels of lotus materials were embossed after the test treatment.The work can enrich the color of the work and enhance the layering and three-dimensional sense of the work.
