The tobacco samples were collected from western Hunan Autonomous Prefecture of Yongshun, Longshan, Fenghuang, Huayuan, Guzhang, Baojing, Luxi and other seven major tobacco producing counties by the methods of GPS positioning, manual sampling and multi-point mixing sampling. Further, pH value, the determination of organic matter, total nitrogen, pHospHorus, potassium, nitrogen, pHospHorus, potassium, exchangeable iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, boron, copper, molybdenum and manganese chloride, soil fertility index were tested. Concurrently, we studied the effects brought from the amount of nitrogen fertilizer, pHospHorus fertilizer, different forms of pHospHorus fertilizer, the application manner of potassium pHospHate and the Topdressing of mono potassium pHospHate on the Flue-cured tobacco yield and quality. The main research results are as follows:1, The state of Western Hunan tobacco growing soil organic matter is23.19g/kg, average pH value is6.16, Total nitrogen is1.57g/kg, available nitrogen is129.68mg/kg, total pHospHorus is0.57g/kg, available pHospHorus is17.18mg/kg, total potassium isl8.60g/kg, available potassium is179.01mg/kg, exchangeable calcium (11.301/2cmol/kg), exchangeable Mg (1/2cmol/kg)1.98, available zinc is2.04mg/kg, The effective boron is0.39mg/kg, available Mn is27.56mg/kg, available Mo is0.33mg/kg, Available Cu i s1.99mg/kg, Available iron is70.21mg/kg, water soluble chloride is15.72mg/kg.2, Soil nutrient changes with time and altitude. Compared with2002, in2013the tobacco soil organic matter content decreased by5.04%, total nitrogen content increased8.4%, available nitrogen content increased by9.8%, the effective pHospHorus content increases from11.18mg/kg to17.18mg/kg;Water soluble chloride, exchangeable calcium and magnesium,available boron, available zinc were significantly increased, The pH value almost has no change. Organic matter content was the lowest below in400meters and increased with the increase of altitude and slightly decreased at800; pH value was the highest below400meters and declined with the increase of altitude and increased slightly at800available. Available potassium and available nitrogen, total potassium and total pHospHorus, exchangeable magnesium content values as the altitude increased the average rise; exchangeable calcium, water soluble chloride content was negatively correlated with the altitude rising.3, The best application amount of nitrogen and pHospHorus is Pure nitrogen6.5kg/667m2, pHospHorus pentoxide7-14kg/667m2.In different pHospHorus forms, with di-ammonium pHospHate applied,the yield is the highest;while as a result of application of superpHospHate, the output value and average price is the highest,quality of better than average tobacco is the highest proportion. Potassium sulfate using25%as the base fertilizer and75%as top dressing, and the top dressing applied two times (50%each)25days,35days after transplanting is the most appropriate. monopotassium pHospHate fertilizer should be10kg/667m2.
